I say Glen Plake. When he was at Sunday River he went out and watched/supported one of the competitions going on that day. Most of the competators (sp) were kids. He says he just wants skiing to expand and whatnot.

If I had to say 2, Glen Plake and Johnny Moseley. But I want to include Mike D, JP Auclair, Shane Szozs, Seth Morrison and Shane McConkey.

Sorry to say it, but Tanner entered the scene at the right time and is an amazingly talented skier and very marketable. However there are too many now like him that have emererged in 1 or 2 years, and haven't really changed the sport enough. Think about skiing ten years ago, and then 2 years ago. Its a much bigger change.

I think Sarah Burke really needs recognition, before her there were really no female freestyle skiers. And look at how the female sport is now, there are tons of chicks out there doing quite well for themselves

You cant pick 2 its an evolving thing. Back in the day some Mike D, Shane, Plake helped build the foundation soon Moseley put up the 'being built' sign to everyone' Morrison's Videos and Candide and CR in X games started the framing, with everyone building there own part.

seth for one upping everyone in the BC, and Tanner, theres a reason he wins every year, even though so many people shit on that guy, i see 90% of the skiers at every hill trying to emmulate his style. honorable mention for the future of changing the sport. pep fujas, hes gonna do shit nobodys ever seen before. in the end way to many people. Mickeal, Pollard, Skogen, Douglas, Cusson, JP, Shane, CR, Candide, Trevor Peterson, Doug Combs, Nobis, etc. etc. theres alot of people who have shaped skiing to what it is today.

What about guys like Scott Schmidt? He was ripping big mountain way back in the day and people like Greg Stump for making the 'First' real ski movies like Blizzard of Ahhh's and Fistful of Moguls. What about Warren Miller? You might like his movies, but he was always a big influence on skiing. Theres way too many people to say just 2.


And on the note of Vinny. Has anyone ever noticed that he does what appears to be an unnaty 3 in State of Mind, but its actually a regular 3 with the film flipped over so it appears unnaty?

to whoever said candide's big mtn skills arent that good, son, you need to watch French Toast....that little double 3 manuver as well as the step up are just a slice of what he does...Candide Thovex is easily the best new schooler around right now, seconded very very closely by Pep Fujas.

if you wanna look at the most influential people in the sport you must look way back into the 80's with the likes of scott schmidt and glen plake for big mountain. look back to i believe 1997 at the first US Open at Brad Holmes, JP Auclair, Cusson and Shane Anderson!

ok. seth morrison definately is one of the most recognizable skiers, and probly johhny moseley. after his mogul run, a lot of ex-skiers went back to skiing because they realized how sick it can be.
