what a typical right wing response to a logical argument. fuck its not even an argument, its a fact, and I know its a fact because one, I payed out my ass, secondly its been all over the new papers since it happened a few years ago, many articles questioning enrons practices, (you should watch somthing other then fox news) and now audio tapes with enron traders laughing and making jokes about taking californians for ridiculous amounts of money. This shit isn't made up... The entire state of California was bent over and fucked in the ass by Enron.

Enron and its executives have given more than $2 million to the Bush campaign and other GOP causes, while donating about a quarter of that amount the the deomcrats.

Why would enron support bush? Energy deregulation, alowing them to manipulate prices, which they ended up doing quite well.

Bush is trying to downplay his ties to Enron... but they are there: Enron CEO Kenneth Lay has actualy been a friend of Bush and the Bush family for years. When Gov. Bush ran for president, Enron gave him access to a company jet. In April 2000, when Enron opened a new baseball stadium named for the firm, then-candidate Bush sat right in front of Lay in the Enron box. So Dubya, are you telling me you didn't talk with 'Kenny-Boy' that whole time? How did you end up in the Enron box in the first place? Oh the Usher directed you there? Riiiiiiight.

As Bush assumed the presidency, Enron had unusual access to the new administration's deliberations about energy policy and appointments to important posts. Lay served on the Bush transition team and helped interview candidates for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which oversees the gas pipelines and electricity grids that are key to Enron's business. (hum... do you think its a good idea to let the CEO of a company choose the people that are going to regulate him from making millions of dollars?) Earlier this year, the commission's chairman, Curtis Hebert, who was being considered for reappointment by the White House, declared himself 'offended' by Lay's lobbying efforts. Hebert later quit the panel.

When Vice President Dick Cheney drafted a new energy policy, he met with Lay and other Enron executives. Enron was reportedly the only company to be granted such a meeting.

So, whats really going on?

Everytime someone says somthing logical, or presents facts that go against the right wing agenda, right wingers dodge the point made and counter with some distracting slander. They thow out the word 'liberal' in such condecending tones, like anyone who is a 'liberal' is an anti american terrorist loving hippie.

The conservative right wing stance is 'we are your government, belive what we tell you. All these people questioning us are obviously goons, and anti american.'

I say nay. As an American, you have a right to question question your government. It doesn't make you anti America, if any thing it makes you pro America. The US government has done many questionable things in its history, Vietnam, Bay of Pigs, Iran/Contra to name a few... looking back on those things its clear, we fucked up.

NO it isnt the right wing conservative stance. Becuase i am right wing but i question many things the govt does and i am very critical of it. You are right we do fuck up as a coutry we are human. You assholes that expect the US to be perfect in their actions and always do what you want need to shut up. There is nuthin wrong with questioning or disagreeing with your countrys actions we all have diff opinions. But some ppl take it too far. Are you ppl so narrowminded that you cant see the greater good in some situations.

I don't think the problem is that people are critizing the government, but they aren't giving credit were credit is due. It seem pretty unilateral when people critisize the government on just about everything, but when something goes right you don't hear a word. I have no problem with people finding fault with the government or presidency for that matter, but they seem to ignore the fact that their have been positive aspects and improvements also.

I don't think anyone can stand up and say that every single desison that Bush has made has be a poor one, yet I can not say that all of Bush's decisions have been wise. Yet, a double standard exists, and it seems unjust that the president must be attacked on every poor decison and not praised on his good ones.

I do not think that this is just the public's fault, but the media also. It is much easier to rip someone up then it is to build them up, and the media does this every day. In short, I believe that if you are going to say that Bush has made some bad choices, or any president or political figure for that matter, be prepaired to admit and realize that he is not entirely wrong in every aspect of his office.

Yea thats what i was trying to say certain ppl have started criticizing Bush(which is fine) and they have become carried away. Take for instance the programs and tax cuts have been turning the economy around and i gurantee the liberals on here will say it wasnt becz of Bush. I just find it ironic becuz there are many ppl that dont find the actions of clinton to be a big deal but Bushs are. There is a very real double standard in this country.

Clinton's Actions? Like what? lying about Getting head in the whitehouse? Yeah thats definitly terrible. Right up there on the same level with LYING about wepons of mass destruction to commit our nation to a war in which thousands of people are dying, and has forever changed the global political climate. Yep Clinton was a monster.

What about when Clinton Cruise Missled Bin Ladens Bases after the african embasy bombings? All the repbulicans were crying about that. If that happend to day and Clinton was in office, they'd be screaming 'cruise missles aren't enough!!! We need to invade them!' Hypocracy.

Have you ever stoped to think why so many people are such strong critics of Bush? You say they are going over the line in their criticism of him, well, if he didn't go over the line in his policies maybe people wouldn't be so harsh on the guy. The Largest global anti war protest in the history of the world doesn't just happen by chance. There is a reason.

Still the fact that the rest of the world could clearly see what Bush and his cronies were doing was wrong doesn't mean anything to you? Maybe the newly released Senate Report on the justification of the war in Iraq will sway you:

But Congress never debated going to war to stop Saddam Hussein's brutality. (all proven to be non existant or extremly exagerated in the report.)

It was an effort and combination of tax cuts and economic programs by bush. Thats all im sayin you cant say 1 good thing about him. I can say good things about clinton though all he really did was ride the internet boom and perfect time to be a president.

ya, maybe a few jobs now, but look at how many have been lost. The total is still way lower then it should be. As for the economy, there are better ways to deal with it then trickle down economics.
