Rockstar Games is publishing another potential masterpiece on their roster, L.A. Noire.
This game looks like a crossover of Grand Theft Auto, Heavy Rain and Condemnded: a criminal investigation game with amazing face recognition technology - a large part of the game is actually figuring out slight nuances from actors' faces if they are telling the truth or not. The game is filled with a lot of known actors and the hype is on, this might be the first game I'll buy in many years.
I'll let the videos do the rest of the talking, check it out, you will be amazed.
Getting better, but thats the scary thing about the valley, the further you push, the more disturbing any small imperfection is. Like the faces look so real that the voices feel detached. The facial expressions are so real that its disturbing to seem them plastered on to plasticy computer generated face. The game looks great, don't get me wrong and its going to be incredible, but there's just something unsettling about the way the people look.
Looks interesting. Could get repetitive ala Assassins Creed 1. Rockstar doesn't exactly have the best track record with games that aren't GTA (except RDR which was GTA on horses). I certainly regret buying State of Emergency. Manhunt was fun for a while but pretty meh. Plus it seems like GTA, but with puzzles, which seems kind of dumb. Cool that they finally got the licensing for a real city though, maybe GTA will finally get a real place.
It's out and it's awesome. I've been watching the walkthrough and it's like a damn well-written and acted old school adventure game mixed with some Shenmue. Very, very good.
Got the game and have been playing it for awhile. Its pretty fun but you gotta get used to being wrong. Its very detailed and pretty crazy. Really open game that gives you a lot of choices when it comes to the interrogations and all that. All and all its pretty fun definitely worth getting.
though still not as good as the mighty Red Dead, i'm finding it really compelling, even as far as disc 3. i do find it can be a little frustrating and repetitive though, especially when searching for clues. still, i'd give it 9.5/10 for sure
