Can you remount the same bindings over and over?

I have some griffon demo bindings on one ski and I want to change then to another new ski. I then want to put barons or dukes on the other ski's because I want the touring option and have been told here that I won't need to drill more holes as the griffon demo and baron/dukes match up. I might want to swap the bindings around to see which ski suits the barons more.

I wanted to know that because a fellow newschooler told me that you use glue to secure the screws. Therefore is it damaging to keep removing and re-gluing in the same screw holes if done professionally (not by me!)

no you should have no problems at all if you don't strip the holes by screwing to tight, always reglue with proper binding glue

great thanks! Could you tell me how long the glue should be left before you ski? (its a pow day in Whistler and I want to get pow skis this morning!)

Although it's recommended to let dry overnight, you will be ok, mount glue is non-water soluble. I have done it before on other skis and have had no problems with rotting or even water getting in there. Done all my mounts myself while I worked in the shop. If the tech does it right, there should be no problems.

pretty well rite away after, the time you get to the base and up the lift should be good for a great day of pow, nice here I am at the office in the east, tabarnac wish I was there today, oh well get to make the bucks to be able to go on my next heli adventure lol

ehhhhh...i wouldnt do this...i could imagine this may be bad for ur skis and wouldnt work for long! get "quiver killers"

those are great too, but the dude wants to go pow skiing like now , it won't harm the skies today, but yes that would be the best thing to get

If you are using existing holes, I would suggest installing a threaded insert. Any screw that has been removed once will never have the same pull out strength when reinserted.

If you need a mount in the short term, it may work in the pinch and get you by until you can get inserts in, but you do risk a pullout which could remove more core material if it were to happen. A helicoil by a shop might be a good option for an immediate mount, but is not designed for the binding screws to be as readily removable as inserts such as quiver killers are.

If you don't want helicoils, or inserts, and think the mount will be "permanent", go with epoxy to really bind to the wood. This will really limit the potential for pullout.
