Ohio Dreams???

I have a few questions for people that have been there. Its fairly cheap compared to windells or COC so i was thinking of going there. Can you actually learn alot on the water ramps/rail garden? I also don't rollerblade or skate and that pretty much seems like the only other thing to do other than water ramps. And lastley is it worth the price to go there?

threads.  i might consider going up for an open ramp session.

does going on water ramps with your normal skis mess them up?  what about boots and bindings?

I was at windells this guy there went to the dreams he told me the ramps were sick,
but he also told me hed rather of gone to COC then windells or The Dreams

I went for two weeks. it was extremely fun. its so laid back and chill.  you do what you want when you want.  the owner is always there hanging with everyone.  the ramps are real fun. there is also alot less people at the dreams then there is at windells

I would highly recomend it

it's an awesome place. right by my hometown, i was out there all the time before i moved. the ramps are an unbelievable way to get better at jumping. the rails are sick, too. the trampoline rules too. for down time, the skate parks are amazing and the dirt jumps/bmx tracks are pretty righteous too. you definitely wouldn't be bummed on an ohio dreams session. it's not snow skiing, but then again you probably wouldn't be trying doubles or whatever else you could dream up on a real jump rather than one into water.

I was at the open session last September and it was a ton of fun. The water ramps are sick and you can learn a ton on them. There is a slight learning curve on them, that my friends couldn't cope with, but i had no problem with it. They also have two rails set up, a slightly down box and a similarly slanted rail. The rails are fun and the lips are good enough that you can 2 on to the box. They also have a legit in-ground tramp which can easily doubled on. So if your skiing you can learn a ton whether its on jumps or rails.

If you get bored with skiing there's plenty to entertain you, even if you don't skate or bike. They have two giant water slides next the the water ramps that throw you several stories on their own and are imo more fun the ramps themselves. Or you could tramp. Or you could dick around in the foam pit like just throwing flips into it from nearby ledges. Because of these three things I could go to Ohio Dreams without my skis and still have a banging time.

So in short its hella legit and def worth the money you will have a shit ton of fun whether or not your doing somthing on your skis.

You can learn as much as you want on both, I've seen first backflips and 360's to doubles being thrown on the ramps.  The skatepark is probably most popular, but there's also the trampoline, and a BMX race track, pump track, and dirt jumps.  Besides for that there's activities every day like dodgeball, kickball, and more, and if you still aren't interested in any of that to do there is the coolest slip n slide (Slip n Fly).  It has two sizes, small and big, and on the big double flips are routine into the pool. 

I went to Windells as a kid and then I went to Ohio Dreams and I was lot more comfortable with the size of the camp, and the family nature that it has.  The price is definitely worth it.  PM me or post any other questions you have

Dreams is pretty awesome, my cousin owns it so iv spent a lot of time there. Its a blast, theres tons of cool people and the fun never stops. I stayed over night once and all the counselors threw firecrackers and shit in our bunk at like 1am lol they like to have to which makes it even better. The water ramps are fun but tricky at first because your ridding on a plastic surface but the rails are super fun, last summer i would go there every saturday just to jump on there tramp its insane! Dubs are noooo problem on it heres my edit from the tramp.

But if you can go to COC or Windelles id go i still am trying to make it to Windelles myself thats deffinitly a once in a lifetime experience skiing during the summer with a ton of people who shred.

I've never actually hit them, but according to my friend, it can hurt. You wear a wetsuit, but youre still falling pretty far into the water, and hitting your face can be a bit painful

The pool has a bubble aeration system, so you aren't landing directly on water.  Yeah it can hurt every once in awhile if you land funny, but its not that bad.

place is great. i didnt learn to much on the ramps because im like jumping retarted but the tramps great and you can pretty much learn anything with the coaches there. I personally loved the skatepark even more than skiing. funnest skatepark i've ever seen. i got like 5 times better at skating than i was originally there. go

Great place to go and have fun/learn. Great facilities and friendly staff. The water ramps are great for beginners and if you can't skate, they've got trampolines, dirt jumps, bmx tracks, and plenty of things to keep you entertained. Totally worth the price to go.

i went, loved it, and whatever you can learn to skate, or rolelrblade, the coaching is sick, chill atmosphere, and you could also bring your bike

nick geopper learned all of his dubs tehre i think, so the place is banging, and the tramp is really good too

i learned all of my dubs there

i would learn how to skate first or you can skateboard and shit but they have a tramp you can learn on too, then the foam pit, and then the ramps.

Super sick and fun atmosphere, ill most likely be there again this summer sometime,

There is a city called Mansfield that is about 30 minutes from camp and has everything a small city has to offer like movies, mall, restaurants, Walmart, etc. but you don't go there while you are at camp unless your parents were to take you or something.

The material that the ramps are made out of is pretty tough, so the instructors take every precaution to insure that the camper is ready to hit the ramps before they do it.  At OD kids will start up a short ways and just ride down the material to get the feel of it before they go off into the water.

on the topic of ohio dreams, when are the day sessions? in past years they had single days open to the public (over 18 i think,) but i couldnt find them on their website. if anyones got some info on that i would be real stoked

Most of the info Can be found on the website.

Like here is a daily schedule for BMX.
I would assume that skiing is on the same time and that during the BMX instruction time is probably tramps or rails or water ramps.

It really looks quite nice.

Also I have heard that since they are an NBL training facility they have great meal options that are all very healthy.

Yes, you can learn many tricks on the ramps and rails. You might want to invest in a pair of Inline skates for the foam pit. The price is prime.

Lodging is set up in a big dorm that is divided into almost four separate buildings (think like a duplex house.. one structure but two separate buildings..).  Boys are divided by age depending on the week but usually 12 and under in one, 13 and over in the other, etc.  Bathrooms with multiple individual shower stalls and bathroom stalls are attached. 

Water ramping is done for instruction from breakfast til lunch, and also after dinner.  During the afternoon there is free time and rest and the pool is open for swim but not ramping. 

Food is made in a cafeteria by the dorms and is different every day.  Having been to many different camps I'll say the food is good. 

Daily routine is wake up, eat breakfast, head down to camp, instruction with coaching groups, lunch, rest time, free time, dinner, more free time/instruction, full camp games, bed.  Usually last night of each week is a campfire.
