What to do when overshooting

What do you guys do to minimize injuries/pain while your in the air and know you're gonna go past the landing? Someone told me that I should try to land sideways, but I'm not sure if that's right.
inb4 learn to not overshoot

if i kno imma over shoot pretty bad which i have over a 60 ftr which sucked or case pretty bad i try an but my tails down first to try and absorb most of it but really doesnt work

Honestly, the few times I've overshot a lot, I find that taking it straight to the balls of my feet has hurt the least. Basically, go for a super clean landing.

try and fall as close to that, he fell from 40 feet and was actually okay, the doctors say the way he landed was the best way possible in that situation

Half the time I just turn into a massive gaper-bird and flap and flail like a moron. Especially when I have plenty of time to think about just how fucked I am.
I've found that if you just stay calm and balanced a surprising amount of the time you can just stomp a real heavy landing even if you're way down in the transition. I think keeping your skis parallel and level is the most important bit, if I start getting all shifty in the air I find that my skis hook up on landing and suddenly I'm getting some sort of accidental underflip action which usually ends up worse than just pancaking or backslapping.

Dont land like 90 degrees sideways. I like to dig a strong edge so I just slide out when i land. Lots of pressure is absorbed by you sliding out

lol dont land sideways. I overshot real bad and landed right on my side... ended up with a nice concussion and a rotator cuff injury

that sounds like a great way to blow your knees and whiplash your head for a really bad concussion.

i always seem to revert to a parkour-esque way of landing on the feet and tucking into a forward/sideways roll. I haven't had to do it very many times but it's never failed me.

when your in the air yell "OH FUCK! OH FUCK!" as loud as you can. then when your feet touch the ground bend your knees. swearing always makes me feel better.

Start screaming, "I HAVE NO BONES!!!!!!!!!" I have done this and people came up to me for the rest of the day telling me how awesome it was =)
