assuming your talking about the habs hit. it wasnt even a dirty hit, it was a bump. its all because of that part of the ice. awful hit nonetheless, but it wasnt charas fault. hope the guys alright though.

He was just rubbing him out on the boards. this happens approximately 1000000 times a game (give or take a few). The thing that fucked him up was that pillar. They really need to fix that.

And a five-minute major/game misconduct is bullshit. Wasn't even close to a dirty hit.

you guys gotta be fucking kidding me. anyone who knows shit about hockey knows that in between the benches is the most dangerous part of the ice. chara is 6'9 and 225 lbs as opposed to pacioretty whos maybe 6 feet tall and lucky to be 200. try being bumped by someone a solid 50 lbs more than you while skating at a decent clip, youll fall, trust me. if that was anywhere else on the ice, he would have rebounded and kept skating. its awful what happened to the poor dude, but you people that are saying charas hit was dirty etc, have literally no idea what youre talking about.

Holy shit, happened in my state championship game last year. 7 seconds left and it was brutal. Started an all out brawl and they had to end the game, even though it was 7 seconds left.

wow. Are you people actually serious? He didn't even have the puck, Chara knew that he didn't, and still deliberatley pushed right into the boards. Yeah, maybe it was a bad spot - he didn't want that to happen, but either way, if there was no injury it still should have been a penalty.

You can tell your opinion, but dont tell people that what he did was fine !!
he didnt have the puck, 15 seconds left to the half, he pushed him once, and then you see his hand, going for it. He wanted to hurt, thats intention to hurt. Yes the pillar is not at the rite place, but he still did it, someone almost died tonight, playing hockey in front of a bunch of kids eyes, thats what were showing to them

Ok seriously, it's hockey. I've gotten stitches on my neck right next to my jugular. I've seen broken legs, arms, and a neck during some of my games.

If you play the sport you know damn well the consequences of what could happen.

Ok sounds like a good number of people in this thread know little to nothing about hockey. 

first of all, it was not a dirty hit.  He was just finishing the check after max passed off the puck, usual hockey.  I really doubt he planned it all out and intended to run him into that specific area, hockey is super fast, shit like that isnt planned.  Chara is huge, he's like 250 and god knows how tall. 

Max is around 6'2 and 22 years old.

He did deserve to get ejected and the penalty given was fair.  If you look back at all the dirty head shots/boarding/hit from behinds that have happened this year, there is a really good chance that he will get suspended.  If you have watched any hockey this season at all or in the past, you'll know what im talking about.  He is the captain and an all star so even though i disagree, the NHL board will take that into consideration which i think isnt fair.

why bring the fact that theres kids in the audience into it? should people not watch nascar in case theres a crash? should they just pad the walls in rinks? what people dont understand is that we all agree that it was awful. im a bruins fan through and through, but putting myself in the other shoes, i wouldnt be mad at chara for hitting the guy, id be upset that he got hurt at all. and i truly hope everythings gonna be okay. my point is that it wasnt purposeful.

and to all the people saying like HE DIDNT HAVE THE PUCK, they were chasing it. as long as youre within 5 yards of it you can be physical. ive seen much worse hits get much less severe penalties.
