Got a ticket with junior license, HELP IM FREAKING OUT!!

I got my license today.
Then i drove my friend down the road, hit the gas and was going 65 in a 35.
Look back and see police lights.
I pulled over and he gave me a ticket and shit.
He didn't call my parents or anything, But i dont know what to do.
Are they going to find out somehow or can i just handle all the shit on my own?
Any advice would be great.

They will find out. I'm guessing you have a sizable fine, and when your insurance skyrockets, well... there won't be anywhere to hide.

And take the consequences, pay the ticket, etc. I don't think you have to include your parents, which is understandable, but if you get your license taken away (which is likely) they'll wonder why you won't drive anywhere.

show up to court pay your own ticket and don't tell your parents?

my friend did the same thing but not with a junior license and he just got a speeding ticket.

Yeah no, you should tell your parents asap. They'll be pissed, but you'll all get over it. Better than having it on your conscience till they find out later.

That sucks man, that was some dumb shit, but we've all been young and dumb at some point. Try to get better about speeding, I know its fun, but its not worth the tickets. Took me 2 speeding tickets to figure that out and I know people with way more.

Going that much over is retarded. I dont understand people who do that. If you wanna hit 90 or something on the highway then go for it, but goin 60 in residential(which is what im assuming you were driving through) is just wreckless and stupid.

Now you learned your lesson, and I wouldn't be surprised if your license got suspended

Your insurance will probably go up by 50% and you may have your real liscence revoked/not able to get it until you are 18. It all depends on state laws

The cop didnt have a radar gun, he just thought it looked like i was going fast.
Its a dead strait road and 65 doesnt even feel fast on it.
The ticket wasnt for speeding specificly it was for somthing general but said that i was going high than the speed limit between 65 and 35.
The ticket is going to be $110 and i may or may not need to see the magistrate.
Im just wondering if there is any way for me to make sure my parents dont find out.

Your mom will find out, because you're under 18 and will most likely have to appear at court with a parent. Since you're sixteen, you will also lose your license.

You should lose your license.

In Washington, you would have lost your license for a double infraction while under license probation: passenger who wasn't immediate familyand speeding. Regardless, here you are, in the midst of a major dumb fuck up, and you try to defend nearly going double the limit (which usually leads to an arrest) because the road was straight?

You're a total pussy. Own up.

Tell your parents. I can't imagine they won't find out, and if you withhold, you're creating a nightmare.

You think you are in complete control and are having a good time - until you unexpectedly lose control possibly killing someone else. Nice. Please, if you drive fast do it on some private property, or someplace where you can't harm anyone, but yourself.

I got my first ticket a few weeks ago(21 over the limit) and I am a little worried I could lose my license. I'm probably going to use my prayer for judgement. I am 18 though, you are on a provisional license. I imagine you could lose it til you're 18, but you may not. If your parents are willing to spend like 1000 bucks on a good lawyer then you can probably get out of it.

does anyone not notice that cop didnt take away his licence or tell him that he may get it suspended. in the occurrences ive heard of, the cop will give you a heads up if you will lose your licence. i mean, he most likely will just have to pay the fee. in my state you can go to the DMV and pay for it. dont even need to go to court. but idk where you live.

this thread is total nans.

but for the people who do it... The dumbest, the fucking dumbest place to speed is in speed zones 40 and under. First for the most part it isn't even safe. Not saying there aren't some completely bullshit speed zones but most are in busy areas. Second, if your going to get a ticket it's probably in one of those zones, cops hang out right where the speed drops or it's an area where cops are driving around.

I go the speed limit for the most part. I def destroy some of the beautiful back roads around where I live still, but I'm not dumb about it. Even if I was absolutely flying on this 40 mile backroad of nothing, when i hit the main towns after I do 34 in the 30 zone. One of the things that pisses me off the most is when people do 40 45 through a 55 and then either maintain the same speed or actually excel going into a 30-40 zone.



Fuck stupid drivers. When there's lanes of traffic and your the only one driving in the right two lanes. Shit like that. Cops should ticket ignorant drivers with huge fines and leave other people alone.

in VT you get your license at 16 and for 2 years if you're caught going more than 10mph over the speed limit you get your license revoked for several years. tell your parents, get in huge trouble, and maybe you'll learn your lesson not to go fucking 65 in a 35. everything you do in driving is because you made the decision to do so, there's no excuse for speeding excessively and driving recklessly. i could care less about people who choose to drive like idiots, they deserve to get in an accident as a wakeup call, but i do care about the innocent people they run into and kill

I understand how it happens man, i have a fast first car too haha.
If you plead guilty on the ticket you wont have to go to court, just hope they dont mail anything home.

$110? you got off easy as fuck my friend. i know people who have gotten fined way more for speeding a lot less. plus with only a permit and a friend in the car; you have no idea how lucky you are right now.

i don't know where you live and how your insurance system works (i'm guessing you don't live in the US), but if it's anything like ours then your parents will find out when your insurance costs increase. you could pay the ticket without them knowing, but they will find out eventually

That road is a 35 for a reason, you shouldnt be doing 65. you were caught just as fast as it would take for someone to jump out infront of you.
