I'm currently responsible for writing a short paper on Noesis-Noema structures with regards to modernity for my Sociology class. The reading we're responsible for is from "Seeing Sociologically" by Garfinkel. I kind of understand the basics of Noesis-Noema, but I really need someone to but it in simpler terms for me.

i try to stay away from wikipedia, however helpful as it may be. unfortunately, i can't make it to my professor's office hours this week, and seemingly all the texts i've found online are difficult reads.

>stay away from reasonable trustworthy source with a crapload of basic info and links to other more legit sources
>use website filled with 14 year old skiiers instead

3rd year university student tip: read wikipedia to gain a basic understanding, use the links they reference as a jumping off point towards more useful and scholarly articles.

there's the off-chance that the information presented on wikipedia could be false, considering anyone can edit it. For god's sake, KangBang is listed as some influential being on the NewSchooler's wikipedia page.
This website is not all 14 year old kids. There is a pretty strong chance that someone on this site is in college and has taken a sociology course of similar level.

Wikipedia is generally a very reliable source (oh no, anyone can edit it? Not like NS....). If you're in college, you should understand this. Some of my professors actually accept Wikipedia as a source for basic information since it's so well regulated. It's my own fault if I'm too stupid to fall for a trolling.

i'm just wary about using it and citing it. In high school, me teachers condemned wikipedia like the plague, so i've been conditioned to not use it.

i'm not a huge fan of it. my professor is a hardass, and is the author of several of our texts, so her standards are obscenely high.
