I am looking at my DBS skimboard right now. I think the really cool kind of skimming is wave skimming though.
We had 30 feet of bungee in tofino a few weeks ago and it was a blast and a great warm up before surfing.

Damn that's filthy! I live in Seattle. I'm really, really trying to go skimming this summer.
I've done it in the past, and can do small tricks (shuv-its, surface spinning, etc. from skateboarding) but would love to jib!

pretty cool but I'd probably be more inclined to go winching, or skimming in the waves

washington is mainly flatland, there are very few wave spots, and they are mainly hours away on the coast.

Say I want to get into skimboarding.
I'd just be doing flatland shit.
I definitely want 3d rocker.
For a first board, would you recommend the DB Standard Streamline?

I'm a little bummed that staying in Calgary over the summer means no skimming for me this year. I'll never be anything better than terrible at it but it's always so much fun.

Arnt DB boards incredibly heavy? It may just have been waterlogged, but my friends small DB board weighed at least twice as much as my big ol 54 inch Victoria.

Standards have a nice foam layer on the top of the boards, it prevents from heel bruises and gives a real good grip to your feet. If you get a db, definately get the standard its 100% worth it.

There decently heavy, there made out of like 5ply maple ( like skateboards). It realy doesnt matter the weight though, the weight of the board helps flatten out 3 shuvs. Flatland boards are meant to be weighed a decent amount while wave boards like vicortias or apexs are meant to be light.
