Replying to Goggle Strap Under Helmet?

I searched on forums and couldn't find anything about this. I was wondering why the pros and now a lot of people at local mountains and stuff are wearing their goggle strap under their helmet. I mean why? If you just didn't want your goggles over your eyes you have to unbuckle the Helmet, tilt it back and then lift your goggles up. Why not just have it on top on the helmet then you can lift them up whenever you want. This is probably just a new fad, and if it is, I think it's the stupidest fad ever.
