I searched on forums and couldn't find anything about this.
I was wondering why the pros and now a lot of people at local mountains and stuff are wearing their goggle strap under their helmet. I mean why? If you just didn't want your goggles over your eyes you have to unbuckle the Helmet, tilt it back and then lift your goggles up. Why not just have it on top on the helmet then you can lift them up whenever you want.
This is probably just a new fad, and if it is, I think it's the stupidest fad ever.
IMO i think it looks better, also most people that do it have there helmets tilted back a bit so all you have to do is push your goggles up. I also hate when goggles are over your helmet because they always fall off when there not on your eyes and they are more annoying.
Because my helmet doesn't fit properly, so if it were over, the strap would make it angle all over the place. Wearing it under, the helmet and goggle are independent of each other, making it fit better.
People have been doing it for awhile, its more comfortable and looks better. Whenever i see someone with their goggles on top of their helmet, i think they look like a goon. I wouldnt say its a fad at all id say its a way to wear your helmet.
That is a good point because I wear mine over but for boxes , I like my goggles off and when I pop to get on they fall off a lot. I never thought I'd say it lol but I think I'm gonna wear my goggles under my helmet
Once you do it, you won't go back. It really is more comfortable. I don't know how I used to wear a helmet without a beanie under neath. And this has been the "fad" for 3-4 years at least. And it really does look goofy with goggles over your helmet most of the time. The only helmet I think looks good with goggles over is the Smith Variant Brim, I have on and I wore my goggles both ways with it. Still preferred under.
New?.. We've been doing this for YEARS.......... How often do you not want your "goggles your eyes" but still want your helmeton, if anything yer gunna want your helmet off and goggles still on................
it's become a total jibberfag look. they all wear bern helmets with the pads cut out and a beanie with their goggle strap underneath. it serves no purpose, is not more comfortable, and is in most situations more of a liability, however it has become a cool thing to do so everybody does it
I wore them under for a while, it did not strike me as more comfortable. I switched back to over the helmet, i think they fit better over and makes the whole head gear setup a lot more streamlined and simple.
-looks better
-more comfortable
-dosent stretch strap
-not as much pressure on ur face
and when u dont want ur goggles when hiking or somthin u just wear them around ur neck
if u wear them over and dont want ur goggles you would put them up, and then they will mostlikley slide back and hang off the back of the helmet so u look like a tard. they will also break esire if there up on ur helmet and u fall
i totally care i used my friend andrews goggles last week who where's them on a helmet and i had to tighten the strap as tight as it got and that sucked i'd rather my goggle strap didnt get stretched and stayed nice and elasticy
i just do it so people can see my dope stickers...and now i kinda find it more comfortable, and i know i wont lose my gog's if i wanna take em off, i just push my helmet off and BAM i can see w/o gog's and know everythings gonna be fine.
when i'm just cruising around with my friends on the mountain (not park) i like to clip my helmet to my belt, and just wear my goggles and hat, so its a lot more convenient to just have my gogs under my helmet so i can quickly put on/take off my helmet.
Also, i found that if i put my goggles outside my helmet, the top of my gogs does not line up with the front of my helmet as well as it does with my gogs on top of my helmet.
i'll admit, it does look better and i was influenced a bit by other people doing it, but once i started it felt a lot more solid and streamlined.
