Ive been trying to find a good summer camp lately and my friend told me about MT. Hood Summer Ski camps. It's pretty pricy so I was just wondering if anyone has gone to any of there camps and if it is worth it?

Might as well go to Windells. I'd still recommend just skiing a glacier in the summer rather than a camp.

Pricey? Comparing to Windells (the other camp up at mount hood) it's a lot cheaper. I'm going in June this year and I heard it's great and you can really progress while you're there.

No it's not really expensive at all, 1. Your skiing in the summer. 2. Food. 3. Lift tickets. 4. Use of camp facilities.

Your an idiot, if he said it was pricey, he likely isn't looking to pay double the price for a different camp with the same amount of ski days.

go! it's pretty much the cheapest camp out there. super laid back, good food, baller tramp, and malone, willard and decker/maks are really great coaches. i can't say enough about the place. ya they suck at advertising, but that doesn't matter at all. it's a no-frills experience but HIGHLY worth it.

this. The coaches are the chillest and the whole experience was really fun. I'd recommend to nearly everyone

hahah also, reading what people have said, it seems like windells is where all the rich kids who say "mommy i wanna go here" and then go, get to go, while Mhssc, is the kids that can't really afford Windells, and are just really happy they get to ski in the summer, and i feel like i'll fit there

yea man, plenty of kids your age. main age group mobin in the park is around 15-18.

I'm trying to pull together some money for camp this summer.... momentum and COC i think are going to be too much, so i think i have it between Woodward at Copper, Windells and MHSSC.

What is the difference between MHSSC and Windells with terrain, coaching, and just the overall camp experience?

From what it looks like, MHSSC has a lot less people, and WIndells is full of the, "im better than you" vibe. But if you're looking for terrain, go to windells

sounds like you might be at the point of learning some inverts and corks and such. MHSSC is the perfect place to do so.

There will definitely be less, and fewer people. Public park will be hike only probably but MHSSC's lane will still have big jumps and plenty of rails. That being said, I would go earlier. June-July area is the best in terms of weather and snowpack.

what are the jumps like? i've been looking around and am most likely going to this camp because i can't afford windells and this looks like a better option anyways.. i've seen some posts that say 30s-40s but what for sure have you had in the past size wise?

we always have a triple line. usually first jump is 20' second 35-45' and third 45-60'

Went there two years in a row. I haven't been there for about 5 years (so stuff may have changed), but from what i remember, they have a pretty fun campsite (half pipe, mini pipe, 4 trampolines, paintball, a shitty grass field (soccer, frisbee etc.) and a ropes course.

The skiing for the most part is pretty nice. Though their park is relatively small compared to Windells, there are less people in it which will give you a better chance to progress in skiing.
