So i'm getting a job soon so i can make some money for next ski season, and I can't decide where to work. Maybe i could get a recommendation, or hear about peoples favorite part-time jobs?

I searchbarred, but if it's a repost, just talk about funny experiences or something

If you have any country clubs near by, check those out. I worked 3 years at one, and its still the best job Ive had. In the summer worked outside service, taking care of carts, loading bags, cleaning clubs. Made 9$ an hour plus tips. Big tournaments could net $1000+ for 3 days of work. Drank and puffed a ton on the job, but still were the best crew they'd had. In the winter move inside to the restaurant bussing and serving. Christmas parties and weddings made mad bank.

Seriously - If you live near the ocean, find a yacht club and apply to be a launch operator. Drive around a small motor boat all day, suck up to rich people and watch the cash come in. Very fun job and worth whatever licensing you may need. This will be my third summer as a launch operator, can't wait for school to end.

I dono, I'd never hire a male sitter to watch my kids.  Like 90+% of rape/sexual assault is committed by men.  I mean just from a mechanical standpoint...a chick might like expose herself to a little boy or something.  But that won't traumatize him when he's in his 20s; It'll make him think he's a boss.  Although, Freddie Mercury was fairly gay, and he says had sex with his babysitter in "fat bottomed girls."  So there's that perspective too.


But for reals, OP, you can always be an escort/gigolo/prostitute/rent boy/bro ho.

i babysat a 3 year old and a 6 month old. at the same time. the 3 year old was fine, and we always got along great. i'd babysat her before, or just took her out to the park to play. she was a breeze. on the other hand, babysitting an infant at 15-16. not so much fun. i think i had a full blown melt down when i had to change her diaper because she just did not stop crying. i had to call my mom who luckily was across the street. haha. babies are scary, and especially when they're not your babies, you don't want to hurt them, or rough them up. it's like holding porcelain that likes to wiggle and scream.

I worked in an amored car company theat converted bimmers and benzes to have protection as assistant to all. (fetching stuff and mail etc.
I once go to drive a fully armored S-class on the teraain, very short but that was so cool,. that was like a freaking thank,

cut grass for your neighbors. I charged 40 bucks per lawn that took me an hour to cut the whole thing and would cut it every 3-5 days. You get paid to listen to your ipod and walk behind a mower without a real schedule or a boss. If you make their grass look great and keep it nice and neat, they'll love you to death. hell, i got 40 bucks as a christmas present from both of them for a thank you for keeping their grass looking good.

im also thinking about applying for a job at a golf course to wash carts and be a starter and shit. thoughts?

ahhh i babysit a one year old, a four year old and a six year old. but when i started babysitting they were 5 months, 3 and 5. babies are scary....oh and the four year old is autistic. theyre a handful.

Funnest job no doubt (but probably the worst $!) was running a ski shop. The shop was pretty specialist and only sold twintips. There was the challenge of running a small business, but also the fun side of chilling and just talking with other skiers, watching ski movies, getting stoked on peoples ski stories, helping people chose the right equipment for people -  I made alot of friends with people who just came into the store.

Worst job - cleaning planes at an airport. 12 hour nightshifts 6pm - 6am. God that sucked. But I worked my ass off and saved money to go and spend a winter out in the French Alps when I was 18. So I guess it payed off.

The fun jobs are often the worst paid unfortunately!

Check my above post. Working Outside Service at a CC was the best paying job I've had, and it was when I was 18-21. Do it.

I seriously have had every job from babysitting to restaurants to working at my home mountain. I'm working at a pizza place right now and I have an interview with Red Bull tonight so wish me luck!

Does anybody know how working in a garage would work out? I'm kinda into engineering for school and stuff, and I figured two years of mechanical experience couldn't hurt. I was thinking about trying around the local shops this summer. Does anybody know if I'd get fucked and or crushed by a car? In other words: bad idea?

I had to apply at four or five different places until I got a job, but main thing is you have to seem interested and be ambitious, I called the grocery store I applied at once or twice to ask if they read my resume and went in to see what they thought so definitely be interested and show them you want to work for them
