So today in calculus we were learning about the Second Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, and my teacher said that with the very small amount of looking she did she hasn't been able to find an application or use for it in the real word, and offered some extra credit if anyone could find one.

So, I was hoping that any of you that happen to be in like calc 2 or 3 or with jobs that maybe use this theorem could tell me something that its used for, because I could really use the extra points.

finding the area under a function?

easy, just say like the area of a tunnel or something where you can find an equation of the arch. and i guess you can say ho much oxygen or water something can hold given this...

i am in ap calculus in my high school but i could be wrong.

im pretty sure thats just the integral, which might be the first fundamental theorem? im not to sure but the second fundamental theorem is like you take the integral of an equation then you derive it, and plugging in the x thats near the top of the x fancy f in the link i posted. idk maybe im wrong we just learned about it today.
