I was just listening to a really interesting documentary on cbc about the use of a drug called 'woonga' in South Africa. The drug is a mixture of heroin and strychnine (rat poison) and supposedly AIDS medication. What happens is a person will smoke this mixed with weed or tobacco; the strychnine makes them horribly sick and the heroin makes them feel better. But the effects of the strychnine last much longer than heroin so it becomes a cycle where the person will smoke it every 4 hours so they heroin in it makes them feel better all the while the strychnine is worsening them. A horribly vicious cycle that makes it even more addictive than just heroin. And then the users are very uneducated for the most part and are led to believe that it's a mixture with AIDS medication. They were talking about stories of people mugging the HIV positive outside clinics for their medication and even stories of addicts going so far as to getting AIDS on purpose so they could have access to the drugs. Very saddening to hear, but highly suggest listening to it. It's on Dispatches on CBC Radio 1. It's probably already online available to listen to.

^rosbif, morphine and heroin are not the same. I repeat, they are not the same at all. heroin has alot of negative side effects which (in my opinion) ruin the high. morphine is a lovely feeling, and if you smoke opium, thats mostly a morphine high. but yeah alot of people like heroin, but i dont like it so much. it makes you feel like a dirty nagger. best to stick to opium or pills like hydrocodone etc. heroin is far from the champagne of opiates. but dont do drugs till ur at least 18 or you will fuck with ur mental development

wrong. LSD is a crystal. it can be dissolved into alcohol in a pan and then blotter sheets are put in the pan to absorb the liquid. Water can be added to in a way to dilute it down further to get more hits that are weaker. 1 gram of crystal LSD = 10,000 hits that are 100 microgram potency if it hasn't been diluted.

Yeah, don't do it, all the things you hear about it be extremely addicting are true.  I've been doing OC and  Heroin on and off for about 4 years.  I overdosed 46 days ago, put me in the hospital for 4 days, I should be dead.  I got out of rehab a week ago, I've been clean and serene for 45 days!  Going to treatment was the best decision I've ever made, I'm getting enrolled in school again, I can feel again, I am slowly regaining the trust of my friends and family, living SOBER>JUNKIE!

My cousin passed away from a heroin overdose this fall. It's been devastating for the family. He was clean for a while, but relapsed. He was a great musician, a really funny guy, and always in great spirits. I just hope that through his death, those around him who also used heroin got a wake up call and will try and quit.

but my roommate is 100% down to do any drug if we buy it for him we live next to bums and i asked themfor heroin and he said the guy wouldnt sell it to someone whos never done it before so were gunna move onto crack i know where ot get that shit when he smokes it ill put it on newschoolers as a video

100 hits of LSD is a ridiculous amount. like incomprehensibly intense and could plausibly last for weeks and weeks on end. it won't kill you, but may make you kill yourself.

I hope you're joking.

I'll just reiterate what most people have already been saying--don't ever get anywhere near heroin. I've known a few people that got into it too far (which seems to happen more often than not) and it has definitely made their lives significantly worse. Like, taking handfuls of pills every day just so your body will continue to work, and never really having the trust of your family or friends again.

Thats great, stick with it. And if the thought of calling your dealer ever so much as crosses your mind, call a friend, a family member, your sponsor (if you have one), the treatment center, hell call an ambulance.

I am sure that you have heard all of this already, I am just speaking from what I have seen with a friend of mine who relapsed on oxy. Sadly, he like many recovering addicts convinced himself that he quit once for a long period of time, he can quit again if he has to; the good old "just one more time". If you ever realize you are having these thoughts, get help right away. Relapse rates are high but not unbeatable, however, once somebody relapses once, it is a near guarantee that they will relapse a second time.

Best of luck to you, check in with your friends and ask that they do the same. And if you haven't already, get tested for needle transmitted disease.

curious question. i kinda feel like the heroin addiction is largely mental. for instance if you did heroin when your were drunk or passed out would you wake up the next day in pain or not because you didnt know what happened?

Heroin is one of the very very very physically addicting drugs, which isnt to say that drugs that are only psychologically addicting (like cocaine) can't be extremely addicting as well.
