This was an e-mail i wrote to the tech people at a local computer shop that i got this computer from. I wrote it cuse they are closed being it 11:50 right now but im going to call them tomarow also.
Thats what i spent for my computer so far that restarts its self. I bought the computer 3 months or so and sence the day i got it home it started to restart on its self. Brought it in nothing was found, used it for a while because if i took it in agian i knew you wouldnt find anything. Finaly got fed up with it and took it in about a week ago. Told that it was a virus so i reformated it my self, then told i did it wrong because the virus was still there. So i deiced to dig into my pockets and pay the 130 for the reformat and Nortan 04. Well finaly got it back today excited that i will beable to play WarCraft agian. It did work expect that it still restarts, i was told not to download any un-linnced products so i didnt. Only thing i did get was get Ad-aware, Spybot, driver updates, AIM and a Div3 codex (didnt have it befor when the computer restared so that isnt it). I didnt instal War Craft and after it frezzeing 1 times went to tech support on blizzard and think that its fixed. But there is still the problem of it restarting. Now i updated spybot, Ad-aware and Nortan (allredy done but tryed anyways) and scaned for virus and spy ware after i downloaded AIM and the Divx3 codex. I also just did scan with Nortan who according to the tech people was what dected the Virus when i brought it in last week. So far durring this message it restarted on my 1 times and it can be vary annioning. What I want is a computer i can edit with and play games (told when i bought it that it would do both fine) and i cant do either. I have no spyware, virus or ileagal software on my newly reformated computer. But as of now this isnt happening and i feal cheated. Im sure that a responce is going to be, 'bring it in' or 'we do not cover virus'.

Haha, that really sucks. It's totally their fault if it happened right away. they're probably just dumb fucks and you should take it to another computer store or find a friend that knows a shitload.

i know the virus. Its when you go on Newschoolers too much and be a dickhead so the mods then send you a virus that you cant get rid of. Even with reformatting. its in your monitor

Sounds like some bullshit computer store. I would just suggest finding someone to look at your computer who actually knows what they're talkign about and won't kill you on the money. Then when you figure out what it is show the store and make them reimburse you for it in some way.

The comp is nice 2.8 pent 4 800 FBS, 1024 DDR, DVD player, CD bruner and alot of room to inprove.

I would bet it's your power Supply. go to www.Newegg.com and buy a new one. They have great prices. Even if it's not, getting a nice new beefy powersupply is always a good thing. Unless you have a beefy power supply. I have an Antec 550w, and two Antec True Blue 480's and they really kick ass.
One of my computers had those problems and that fixed it. I would find a new place to get your computers, they sound dumb.

pop in a boot disk,boot from that, and go edit autoexec.bat
see whats all in there, if there is restart or shutdown anywhere thats it. It might be your PS but i dunno. give it a shot and see what ya get

my gfs new comp had the sasser worm and it kept restarting so u mgiht wana do a live update and run the virus scan again. or it jus that u have a bad power supply, cuz ive had that same problem.

It sounds like your computer is overheating, open the box and turn it on and check that the fan is wokring. If not take it in and tell them they need to fix/replace the fan.

Is there any components that could be lose inside. Somethign could be lose inside and be causing it to shut off and turn back on. Or something could be messes up and is off and on causign it to restart. I dont know of anywya you could pinpoint the problem but if you do notice anything that doesnt seem right with your hardware you should check it out.

The power supply won't make any difference if it's a loose component causing a short circuit.
Basically just say to them you think it's a hardware problem, and you want them to check the hardware.

they siad it was a virus and they where useing notan 04 to scan it. I have 04 now and scaned and no virus so thats not it.

I would just go someplace else to get it fixed. You could try updating your bios, I doubt that would do anything since i would bet by bike that it's a hardware issue.
