This semester I am studying abroad in Auckland, NZ. I just started class this week, but during our orientation through my abroad program and through the uni here, we got to travel quite a bit.
This first photo is of Manhatthan Beach, which I checked out during my 13 hour layover at LAX. I got a sunburn before I even got to NZ. classy.
The next two shots were taken at Shakespeare Regional Park. The program that I came to NZ with had the orientation here. It was a great introduction to NZ - its so beautiful here. Although not pictured, there is a massive bay with some pretty cool cliffs that were in direct view from the YMCA camp that we were staying at.
These two photos were taken during a day trip to Devonport. Its just across the water from Auckland, so we got a pretty sweet view of the city during one of our hikes.
The rest of these are from a road trip that me and a few buddies decided go on instead of going to orientation week at school. We went to the first orientation meeting, realized that we were no longer freshman and didn't feel the need to stay. We basically explored the coast of NZ, (North of Auckland, AKA "The Northlands")starting on the east and ending on the west. The beach that are in some of the shots is where we ended up sleeping for the first night. I got attacked by bugs, so i decided to sleep in the car. Luckily my friend Eric got me up in time for the sunrise.
There will definitely be more photos to come as the semester goes on. I just wanted to throw some of these up to show what I've been up to. Let me know what you think of the photos if you feel like commenting / critiquing
