Yeah. Slim ones are fine in my opinion. But get rid of boxes in general is a fucking dumb idea. I think a better idea is to get rid of bomb holes and ruts in the lips and landings.

^this. It's all about what you like. Just cuz you don't like boxes doesn't mean they should be gone, just don't hit them! Also, if you're trying to get people to want to get rid of skiing boxes, NS is the wrong place. Its like the most jib oriented online ski site. use the brain

noooo. they are fun. except for the really fucking fat ones. as long as they are skinny enough to be able to really grip your edge on they are legit. but seriously, they do need to be eliminated from professional competitions. i cant believe they are still in the x games and other comps

I don't particularly love boxes but there are things you can do on boxes that you do to learn on rails and stuff. They have there uses and they can be fun.

^ ya i don't think boxes are fun at all either except learning how to slide for the first couple times. id rather learn tricks on flat rails, i cant grip for shit on boxes for some reason and feel way less locked in

Jeeez! Sorry guys, I didn't know that NS took things so seriously nowadays. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, i guess boxes are a sensitive topic for you. I'm not against learning tricks on boxes, not at all - I hit boxes to learn tricks, and hell, I can hardly do many tricks anyways! My point was simply concerning the outbreak of box shots in these serious edits. I'll make an example of (some) of the Superunknown Honerable Mentions. I browsed through some of the park edits that didn't bore me and I saw so many people doing their lip blindside swap pretzel 270 or whatever (don't get me wrong, i cant do those tricks) but their doing them on boxes! Come on man, you're trying to impress, yet you're doing box tricks? Kind of hard to take you as seriously as other guys *cough Dalton Waite, *cough Maximillian Smith. That's the point I was making, sorry for making so many of you sad, I just can't believe how personally you all took a comment that was CLEARLY not serious.

I actually agree!

Well sometimes boxes are fun, but some places overdue it. Mt was has almost no rails and so many boxes. Rails are easier to do some tricks on and way more fun. All you really need for boxes is a flat box and maybe a flat down.

Slim ones piss me off more than a fat ones do.  When I see a slim box I think, wow, that could be a dope dfd rail.....but its a box.  People don't make dope ass features from wide boxes, but for some unknown reason always seem to ruin a rather fun looking feature by making it a skinny box.  Boxes should be about a foot wide for medium/hard parks.  Beginner parks should be allowed to used wider boxes for learning purposes.  Slim boxes shouldn't exist.

mt washington is an exception in my opinion, they for the most part never have a very solid rail/box game. there is at most one urban-on feature (usually the dfd box) and so many poorly set up boxes. mt washington has so much to work with.....and they just dont

The Pwnage on OP was just in fun.  So is this.  It's just funny that the guys who are crapping on boxes have great photos of themselves obviously having a blast on them.  Maybe you wouldn't be as good as you are if you hadn't have had boxes.  What I am Jelly of is that fat rainbow box   All the rainbows at my area are narrower like 8 to 10 inches.  That looks like you could do some creative shit on it.

I see where you're going with that.  Personally I was just having fun with this, no hate at all intended.  IMO it is harder to do spinning tricks on boxes than it is on rails.  I'm not good either, but had a much easier time learning how to back side 270 off of a rail than off of a box.  It seems to take more effort to get bite on a box to create rotation.  i don't think it matters whether it's a rail or a box; it's what you do with it that matters.
