i know a kid who once beat brian scalabrine in a jet ski race and made him pull his abdominal muscle like 4 hours before a contract signing, so he had to do the signing pretending he wasn't in incredible pain. he also once tried to throw popcorn in my mouth from 2 rows away during a nets game. 2 totally separate incidents.

You retarded? real question. Sammy cork 450 on 450 off the rainbow rail at last years xgames. He was also 630ing on a flat down rail at the dew tour when nobody else was. Tom's rail game is insane but to say that Sammy can't touch it because he can't is truly retarded

haha no, I'm not retarded. if you had a god damned clue as to what you were talking about, you would know that realistically, tom's rail skills shit on sammy's. spinning 450 on and 450 off the same way is not a technical trick, cork or not. sure it's a ballsy, high risk trick, but technical, no. if there was a rail jam between the two, tom would slay sammy all day. i'm not a huge fan of either, but there's no avoiding the truth.

and 630ing onto a flat down rail? every decent am at every mountain can do that. you're going to have to try harder.

face it.. sammy's a jump jock. he can hold his own in slope because his standard rail tricks are dialed and he's good in the air. typical salomon team.

you explain it as if he is an average skier. but he's podiumed as so many competitions he's far above "typical salomon team". and i laugh at the term "typical salomon team". you make it seam like the whole team does jumps and no rails. what about charles gagnier? and matt walker? salomon has a pretty diverse team to say the least IMO.

agreed but Carlson takes Wallisch in BC. They are completely diferent Wallisch spends all his time in park and Carlson spends a decent amount in BC

They're both unreal at skiing, both could excel at each others others element if they tried, and I personally think they both have really sick style, why can't you guys just leave it at that.

i agree that wally could probably come out on top in a rail jam, but lets not downplay sammy's rail game. dude can do some CRAZY tech shit, pretzels every way. one year early season he showed up at keystone and breck like every day doing some new weird double pretzel or some bullshit it was crazy. dude has mad rail game, and it is definitely not limited to big spins on and off.

Overall Sammy is a more solid skier, as he has mastered more aspects then wallisch.

As for a park analysis, I'd say they are both even in the air, but I personally think wallisch has the best style in the game right now, his landings are on another level.

As for rails, no shit sammy is real good at them, but there are only 3 riders that can compete with tom on rails and thats LJ, Will, and Gus.

Neither one takes the cake but I like Wallisch, he hasnt been around as long as Carlson, so its unfair to use comps to judge it, but I feel like Wallisch has got Sammy pretty good in rails, Carlsons only really got triples on Tom and to be honest I think Wallisch has the best steeze in the business. Regardless they're two of my favorite skiers

Have you even watched the "BC" segments from sammy? He hits late season slush jumps which basically have park landings, y'all obviously havent hit a late season jump or you would know that. tom could put together a better 'bc' segment in 2 days

I really didnt see any impressive rails in that run. the lip 270 MAYBE. To the judges (and apparently to you), spinning 450s and 630s maybe seem/look technical, but its not... especially when the rail is a gap on or gap off. The rails you referenced were both gap on or gap off. sammys got some spinning ability, but i wouldnt call it a technical rail skill

it isn't compared to other tricks. if you spin 450 on, you already have massive momentum to spin the 630 out especially when there's a considerable gap on and off.

Carlson is superior. Pokes in the middle of dub cork 10s are only slightly insane, add that to triple rodeos and hitting huge backcountry booters. He is also the king of taps and bonks, because he gets bored if there is nothing to run into on a 60' jump. Saying Wallisch is talented is a huge understatement, but having solid landings and a more creative rail-game can not make up for all that Carlson has.

this thread is dildos. sammy is awesome at rails, back in the day he had some killer urban segments. sammy is great all over the mountain. tom is quite possibly the best all around park skier. i'm not going to dignify this thread by choosing the apple or the orange. they're both really really fuckin good

Sammy is a way more solid overall rider, IMO. He stomps pretty much everything and generally is a very different skier. Its like comparing orange soda and JD, both pretty good, but both suited to different situations.

yeah 4 on 6 out is very hard. just cause the momentum is there doesnt make it easy. watch sammys other stuff hes got skills on rails. Tom is probably better but you cant say sammys got no skills on rails.
