I've taken avalanche classes, and know what to look for in safety lines. But is powder worth dying, no matter how deep?

its all about risk management

every line you ski in the backcountry has the ability to be deadly. You just have to make a decision based on your confidence that you can avoid that risk.

I would say almost no line is worth dying for

You can die doing just about anything, it's just a matter of risk assessment. Touring around the backcountry and backpacking solo are things where I know what I am doing, but I am also willing to die doing them if the time comes. I'm not saying people should go in the backcountry blind to the inherent dangers, I'm just saying that risk shouldn't stop you from doing what you love.

I agree with this statement! Mine as well die doing something fun that you love. The chances are pretty low of dying, I mean it happens quite a bit but it's a risk worth taking.
