AR7 vs Afterbang (vs ARV)

I met a few reps this year and I have the opportunity to get some new skis.  I have skied armada's ARV and really like them until they got stolen.  I then skied a pair of surface that I broke in a month, and Kung Fujas which are awesome.  Now Im looking for a new pair.

I like jumps, so I like long skis (im 6'2"), and the largest AR7 and afterbang is 181 cm.

I weigh 210 so im looking for something solid.
I'd like to consider a rockered ski, and I know none of these are (except for maybe ARV)
 Does anyone have an opinion about these 3 skis?

between ar7 and abangs you definitely would want the 7s, especially for jumps. abangs have no chance, too soft for your weight, more of a rail ski anyway. if you wanted to go to the stepups they'd for sure be an option, same as abangs only stiffer for jumps, especially helpful at 200 lbs. personally i'm not a fan of the ar7s this year, i'd go stepups, but there's going to be plenty of opinions in the reverse.

i'm assuming money isnt your TOP priority (mentioned some expensive-ish skis and didnt mention price as one of your top concerns) so i'm gonna go ahead and say forget about the afterbangs. i havent ridden them but ive heard a lot of negative things, nothing terrible or life ruining but slow bases, not constructed well, can't handle much etc

but i have the ARVs and love them (and no, they don't have rocker. part of me would like to see them with some early rise but oh well i ski a lot of shitty east coast conditions anyway)

i'm pretty sure that the longest size for afterbangs is 177, so I would not reccomend them for you, seeing as I am 5'7"-5'8" and I ride 177's.
That being said, I was looking into both of these pairs of skis when i bought some at the beginning of the year. So far, I have liked my afterbangs a shitload. they're real poppy and fun to play around on. Additionally, they are nice and flexible, but are solid skis too, so they aren't like wet noodles and have been fine for jumps.

all in all, the armadas are definitely a nicer ski, but the afterbangs are still sick and will save you a significant amount of money that you could save or use to buy other shit with.

i have my skied for 3 years my armada ar6 and the are fine. i bash them on rails, big jumps. i am 6' and have the 181cm. the are the best for the price !!!

Afterbangs and ar7s are two totally different skis the abangs are soft and the ar7s are stiff. If you like jumps go ar7

I have ARVs and Abangs. Afterbangs are good for rails, but the ARVs are great for everything else. I would say ARVs.

You can' t compare these they are not even close in any catergory.

Let me make it easier for you. Take the A-bangs out of the equation. You are too heavy and they will ski like a wet noodle. So if you insist on limiting yourself to these two brands then the Ar7 or ArV will fit the bill.

However consider expanding your options: check out some other manufacturers....Icelandic, Moment, Liberty, ON3P... Basically I recommend you start a new list and include some awesome made in North America skis. If you are not interested in making an effort, then go with the AR7 it is a fantastic product, a do a little of everything ski.

do NOT get A-bangs they are wayy to soft for ur weight i would say get the AR7

def the ar7s. the abangs will delaminate on you. theyre not that good for landing umps cause they r such a soft ski

k think of it like this, the afterbang is made almost exactly like a skateboard with multipule layers that get shorter, which means the bottom will be longer and get progessivly smaller. K got that. Now have you ever stood on a skateboard and put your feet together in the center of the board. It bends. and if you nounce on the board it flexes more and more. This is exactly what the ski is going to do.

Cool, im pretty much set on the AR7... do they flex similarly to the ARV, i had ARVs when they were black with purple art from like 2007 or something.  too bad they don't have an even longer model... im riding 189 kung fujas right now and love it but their about to explode
