Every time I make a thread no matter what there is some kid that points out the littlest mistake in my grammar . I was just wondering what good dose this do? are you just trying to be a ass hole? It is a skiing web site should you focus be more on commenting about skiing than being a ass.

Just a guess from this thread alone, but it's probably because you seriously need to improve your reading and writing skills.

It's bigger than this being "a skiing website." It's the fact that I literally want to punch myself in the face reading this title/post.

Is that how you talk? With mis-conjugated verbs and missing words? Then why write like you are a caveman? If you plan on being homeless, then fine don't worry about it. No one is being an ass, just being honest. Sorry.

You flat out wrote the wrong word. And the correct word is actually SHORTER....

It's annoying and hard to expect thoughtful responses or advice when you don't have the decency to proofread what you're about to post.

Every time I make a thread there is always someone (less assuming word choice) who points out the smallest (better word) mistake in my grammar. I wonder (shorter, better word) what point or goal this meets? (better sound (in my opinion))
This (answers the 'who' left in "it is") is a skiing website (not two words). Why don't people focus more on the content of their posts rather than being an ass? (adding the question mark signifies that this is not a rant, but an actual question)

The first thing that jumped out at me about your post, after the grammatical errors, was that it is vaguely worded.

Saying that proper grammar and spelling don't make you sound like a total fucking retard is well and all, but it would have been more precise to say that proper spelling and grammar make you sound like you aren't a total fucking retard.

They also help you convey your message. Technically there's nothing wrong with "...helps you get points across" but again, vagueness is a culprit to be wary of.

To answer your question, no. I am an English minor.

Downplay the importance of grammar in written communication all you want, but it will still be the first way people judge you if you're not talking to them in person. For me, somebody making basic mistakes in written form is somewhat akin to having a conversation where the other person intermittently adds "durrrrrrr" throughout whatever they're saying.

Proper spelling and grammar is going to be a huge bonus once you go to college or start looking for a job...

Last year at college, a friend of mine wrote a 15page paper about rock tectonics in western France and got sent back home from his presentation because his opening page contained a spelling mistake ....

Or lets say you're an excellent carpenter and you're applying for a job somewhere, and your résumé starts with a huge spelling/grammatical error, even if your credentials are very good, you're gonna come off like retard and probably miss out on the job because someone else wrote without errors ....
So if someone shits on you for bad spelling/grammar, try to learn from the mistake and i'm sure you'll thank him/her/them later .....

That being said, i'm Belgian, i don't speak English for shit and it amuses me when i can correct Americans/Brits/Canadians on spelling or grammar mistakes, it gives me a raging boner !

Grammar is an important part of life, if you want to have a successful future in a career you should be intellectually up to date. If you make yourself look uneducated by spelling a couple easy words wrong, you are unlikely to pursue a good paying career, so instead of making yourself look like you have the IQ of a 12 year old.. Make yourself look presentable and acceptable to the rest of the population over the internet, don't make an asshole out of yourself and our society. Seeing people spell the way they do makes me think what the fuck they are thinking, learn how spell in a correct format, nobody likes reading anything that doesnt make sense.. Its something to think about :)
