hey, im looking to buy skis and i was wondering which ski is better, line chronic or line blend

i ski all park and the only park ski i would get is the afterbangs but the guy at the shop told me i was too heavy for the after bangs  im almost 200lbs, do you know if thats true?

Im 5'9" 175 and I ride the 178 chronic, definetly one of my favorite skis, I can whip around my spins and throwdown on rails, but when im bored you can take it big mountain, I like the 92 waist. Its a good average waist for me. Just my 2 cents.

I'm assuming that he does this because the 100mm underfoot must be super nice for backslides and fastslides. I could be wrong though

how does the flex of the blend compare to the chronic? my chronics (rip) were some of the best skis i've ever ridden, and I was in love with the flex, but I would like a larger waist since I'm moving west next year.

Don't let the Blend's width scare you off, they are nice n soft flex this year (2013). they are amazing all mounting when mounted -4/5 from center. for park I ride mine -2 as recommended from their North East Rep Rich. I love them as I spend 50/50 park/woods

the chronics have a bit better pop and tail stiffness to help landing backseat but since they are a true center mount they won't do as well in the 3-4 powder days the NE gets.

if you have 2 pairs of skis 1 park 1 all mountain then get the chronics.

if you want 1 pair of do it all, buy the blend's and mount -2

I can't give you much information on the blends but I've been skiing on the new chronics for about two months now and I must say as someone who's been skiing for about 10+ years and being on my 3rd year as a park rider, that the chronics are definitely worth the while.

On your first few days you'll feel like the skis are a little stiffer than they seem but once you start to spend a few days on them they start to break in kind of like a baseball glove, they become very flexible and poppy yet still feel stable when you hit 50+ miles an hour out of the park.

If you don't like the chronics the other skis you might want to look into are the future spins, haven't ridden on them but I've seen some pretty good reviews.

blends are a great all mtn ski. If your focus is park i might look at a thinner option. I LOVE skiing my blends though and they aren't a bad park ski. Ive hit some rails and you can find plenty of edits of guys using it in the park.

this is correct, you would probably snap them

chronics are a great park ski, I would totally get them, or the future spins might be another option if you ant a narrower ski with camber.
