Blue Steeles or Thalls?

Ski the midwest
I want a ski that will have a lot of pop and a little softer but will still hold up on jumps that are >55 feet
So 181 blue Steeles, or 171 Thalls or 176 Thalls?

im 5'7 and 150 and i ski 174 s4s. perfect ski for me but if i had to choose, i would get 181 blue steeles. i dont know about you though, youre way lighter. you can prob handle the 181s though

I ride the 176 thalls and ski about the same stuff you do. I am 6' 175 though and find them super soft. I love them for rails and jibbing in general. Tough as nails too. I regularly hit jumps 35-45 feet and have no problem with them. I would recommend the 171 thalls cause ur light... but then again the blue steeles look sick i just never had used them.

2.^^ I knew Ginko would come in this thread recommending Blue Steeles(Which I would do if i owned a ski company)
3. So you guys think that the 181 blue steele would be too long? Has anyones blue steeles ever became unrockered?

the problem with 181 is your the right height for the ski but your not the right weight. And believe it or not ski sizing has a lot to do with weight( and skiers ability) rather than the height of the skier.

That being said your only going to gain weight, not get shorter so 181 should be safe.

Also I dont think ive heard of anyones blue steeles becomign un rockered, theyre pretty good quality skis from what ive read. Ive been on the fence with picking up a pair for a while

If you hit large booters, go 181, if not 171.

And no, I have not heard of our skis becoming unrockered, haha. David Steele did manage to put a huge amount of rocker into an OG pair of Blue Steeles (they were flat, no camber, until David way under-rotated a misty 5 and ended up in trees). Generally from what I've seen, the bamboo/carbon fiber mix generally keeps pop and camber in the ski pretty well, we have some OG pairs still being ridden out there that the owners will testify about - nearly the same flex and pop as day 1 as on day 100.

Nothing wrong in being 13 dude.

Also the 181 would seriously be to big for you. Like it would take quite some time to get used to them.

171 would be the right size for you.

Does anyone really buy park skis to grow into? They get so beat that by the time your bigger you need new skis anyway.
