its a touring binding fuck head maybe if you didnt live in the east and could acctually cruise around huge mountains you would own a pair

its a trek bindings on a pair of 175 arv';s
it allows you to detach the heel so you can skin up mountins and kinda like cross country ski your way around the backcountry then you snap the back piece back down the rip it up

you put skins on the bottem of your skis which prevent your skis from sliding backwards. then you put those in your bindings, and it allows you to lift up your heel. Then when you get to the top, you take them out,rip off your skis and shred.

To be a little more specific, it looks like a Fritschi touring binding.

oh i see.... livingin Australia there isnt a lot of mountain to 'Tour' so tha would explain why i've never seen them before.

They're Naxo Mountain bindings on my friend's ARV 175s with Black Diamond Skins.

The day that photo was taken it was so foggy you could barely see 5ft in front of you, the snow had a THICK crust... this all resulted in me hitting a bump where my ski cut in and got stuck, single ejection to crusty faceplant, not pleasant.

they're not to good bindings. They have horrible stability and are only good if you wanna trek places.

yeah i broke a rental pair once, the guy told me i wouldnt. they should really look into making a bomber pair of bindings like that cause its such a great idea

^ Really? I'm not sure, but I heard (from somewhere, not exactly sure...) that Naxo bindings (the bindings in Ryan Monsees picture, in the picture) are built stronger than Fritschi's are. Naxo was started by a few guys that were once designing stuff for Fritschi, and then they left to start up their own binding manufacturing company. Naxo's are pretty sweet though from what I have heard.
