yes, best thing to use is a band saw. be careful cutting them and wear face protection and gloves; carbon splinters are deadly. you'll probably want to sand the edges afterwards to clean them up.
dont do it yourself. carbon fiber is 5x worse than fiber glass if it gets on you imo, it sucks. bring it to a shop that sells carbon poles and have them do it because they will most likely have the tools to do it
ive cut my royal shaft poles more than once just using a grinder. took only a few seconds with no problems. it says on the website that they are carbon fiber... but in not really what kind of carbon fiber you have cuz i dont really think this process would work for something like what they make arrows out of but if you have like a heavy duty high speed grinder maybe give it a try.
use a band saw or just a table saw. just make sure they are spinning at their highest speeds..
to keep it from fraying, wrap it with 2 inch masking tape, put like two layers. and cut in the middle of the masking tape. no frays. no splinters. clean cut. shorter poles. done.
attach tape or a tie-wrap just below the cut, then cut it with a hi-speed blade (ie. a dremel or a bandsaw, wear goggles and gloves)
then when its done, mix some epoxy and smear it on the end to seal off and attach the loose fibers, lit it cure, then remove excess epoxy and re-attach handle .....
i once did a pair like that and from what i know they're still going strong .... (they were for a friend)
tape them like someone else said but use electrical tape wrapped as tight as possible. then use a high speed grinder with a composite cutting wheel. never use anything with actual metal teeth to cut carbon fiber. then just cut straight and slowly until you get through. smear some epoxy on the cut ends and slide the grips back on.
you guys are pussys i was doing that shit when i was like 10, take a hack saw and a pair of gloves, go outside, chop tha shit, put the handle back on. This is not an excuse for tiny polls. there is no excuse for tiny poles
