deadmau5 was my 2nd rave, i had so much fun, the cube was so damn ill, i wish they had that kind of video for his salt lake show.

Correction, best live show ever for 10-15 minutes. The show is fucking incredible. I just can't listen to house for that long.

In my opinion he's a good producer, but gets overrated a lot.

Except not, they dudes music is sick but from what I've heard he's quite the douche bag. Im not for sure but I heard that he doesn't do any drugs except drink. Apparently at global last year he ratted on Rusko to security for blazing a dubee before his set. Thats a straight up douche bag move.

He would never be famous if it wasn't for his mouse head. He'd still just be some kid on beatport from toronto.

He's only a little better then Justin Bieber, the jonas brothers, and basically every other mainstream musician.


None of them would be famous if it wasn't for their image, and that is all people seem to care about now. His music isn't that great. You've just tricked yourself into thinking he's some sort of fucking amazing musician because he looks cool.

well im glad you know my thought process already. No i actually like him because i respect the amount of talent it takes to make his music, unlike beiber and the jonas brothers, he makes real quality music in my opinion. Plus i like his personality, and yes the light show on his live shows is amazing. I havent tricked myself into believing anything you fag, i enjoy his music and know that i couldnt produce anything close to as good as his music. But you can believe what you want to believe, im not here to judge your opinions, unlike yourself

You like his personality? Have you ever met him? Probably not so how can you tell if he has a good personality? His music sucks, everyone is on his dick about how good it is. Its not good, it takes a few loops and what not and there you go, a deadmau5 track.

no if he wore a baseball cap and used flashlights and laser pointers for his light shows you'd like about 5 of his songs and find the rest pretty repetitive. i love electro and i love deadmaus but i agree that he's mainly famous because he wears a giant mouse head.

he is a talented electro artist who has put together several incredible songs but he entertains people with the rest by having a good live presence

Speaking of money. How is it you think he makes "quality" music? Because he's really talented? Or because he has fucking thousands of dollars worth of studio equipment?
It's just house. Anyone with money and a basic understanding of music can create it.

Clockwork is a good deadmau5 song.
Everything else... not so much.

actually i have, after his concert in Atlanta on October 1st, and i watch his ustream sessions, ready his fb post and twitter, so i guess i know at least a little about his personality, and as far as the music goes, its my opinion, thats why i have it, you dont like his music thats fair enough, but id be willing to be you cant produce tracks on abelton so well that they dont even need to be mastered when your done with it. but hey maybe im wrong

I agree, I went to his concert in Kelowna. It was alright. Calvin Harris and Skrillex who opened for him were way better. He got over $150 grand for that 2 hour show.

@Gator, Deadmau5 isn't an artist, he said he was a producer.

yeah when other people judge my opinions and tell me i like an artist because of his image and subconsciously convinced myself the music is good it generally makes me a little mad. and im not going to argue about his talent, but what i will do is tell you to download abelton and start producing tracks even close to half as good as his shittiest track

I've been creating music in ableton for about 3 years now. Stop bringing ableton up. Once you get a general understanding of how it works it's pretty straightforward. And who cares if I can't produce music as good as someone probably over 10 years older then me, with limitless studio equipment and money.

I'm really not trying to rag on your beliefs(or at least not as much as you may think), but it just gets to me a little when their are people way more talented then deadmau5 in the world getting little to no publicity at all. Just because their public image isn't that great.

After all, your icon is a picture of his mouse head. I don't think many people would use his real head.

i tried using his real head but NS seems to only wanna accept that icon, its really frustrating, and i never said that Joel was the best in the world, its just a thread for appreciation for his music, you came in here first and started bashing the music and me, i think that a dude on Joel's label is better than him or at least just as good (feed me) and abelton isnt the only thing he uses, i just brought it up cause its something that doesnt cost thousands of dollars, and is what Joel used to create some of his most iconic songs

I made that one song in about 2 hours on a Friday night in like September. When I was really really into dubstep.

I don't expect it to be that amazing.

And to further my point of ableton not being that hard to use...

you would never consider using his real head unless you wanted an icon of a slightly nerdy white dude

he uses ableton as a component of his music making, and maybe it's where the songs are put together, but a lot more goes into it than just a computer program and that requires a lot of money. plus the equipment he uses for his live shows is ridiculous. most successful dj's started out pretty wealthy, it's not the garage band story

even thomas and guy manuel met each other at a prestigious french boarding school

check out Joels soundcloud i think its fuckmylife, the couple of dubstep songs on there he made in like an hour, i know its not that hard to figure out, but his tracks are so clean they hardly even need mastering

My first point was a good one.

Music now is almost entirely based on image and who has the most money to spend.

I'm sure deadmau5 was a pretty cool dude before he got mad publicity and started suing kids for using his samples.
