Moment Skis

Ive been looking into the Reno jibs and the Reno rocker. I can get these skis for $375 with bindings but i already have bindings so probably $275 for either ski. Im 5 foot 110 pounds and i ski 99% park 1% groomers/powder (i live on the east coast) so i was wondering what ski would be better. im 70% rails and 30% jumps. I want a ski that has durable edges. The topsheet is only cosmetic so that doesnt matter. If you have any other skis to recommend those would also be helpful. +k for all help

also want an answer to this. i would say if you want a stiffer ski then go jib but if you want a softer ski go for the rockers

the durability thing is good. I know the jib is pretty stiff but idk how im gonna handle the 92 on mostly rails. im from PA so powder is very rare. im currently riding extremes so how much different do you think it would be to go to the rockers?

both skis are symmetrical so they will have a different feel than asymmetrical skis like your extremes, they will be better for the park, they are also alot lighter than extremes

The real problem is......ive never ridden on rocker except for the little bit of early rise in domains. I know the moments are alot light and im using griffions too so that should be a light weight set up. well im just waiting to get a price on them and which ever one happens to be cheaper wether its this years or from 3 years ago.....as long as its new......i should be getting moment skis

Sorry to do a partial thread jack but I also have a question about the reno jibs.

I'm looking for a new ski and can get the moments cheap. I was originally going to the get AR7's or the THALLS, I demoed the THALLS about a month ago and liked them but I have only skied my rossi scratch fs which was a pretty stiff ski.

I guess my question is really how stiff is the reno jib? some people say very stiff some say medium flex, Are they able to butter?. if someone who has skied the jibs and have a comparasent could give their two cents I would be grateful.

once again, i'd like to see pictures to verify this. i beat the shit out of two sets of rockers for two entire seasons riding urban and had a total of maybe 5 edge cracks. every set of moment's i've had are fucking bomb proof.

as far as the OP's question, given your ratio of rails to jumps, i would most definitely recommend this year's rockers, or even better next year's vice. the rocker is fucking awesome for riding rails and buttering, and the wider waste definitely compensates for the lack of stability that a rockered ski has on park jumps. the rocker takes a couple days to get used to on the hard pack, but once you have it dialed they are fun as hell. plus with your weight it might be difficult to butter like you want to on the jibs.

if you can hold off and wait for next year's vice though, i would recommend it. the early rise with a smidge of camber underfoot retains your ability to butter, but increases your pop and stability on jumps. hope that helps.

Would be this years reno jib, just the way some people describe it, it sounds like its a race ski lol. But idk just wondering from someone who has actually ridden it how stiff is it really? a comparrasent to the ar7 or t hall would be very helpful

there is also 2 more on the other ski. these where taken after being discoverd they where then sent to moment for warranty they where denied though

jesus, i'm sorry to hear that (slash see that). you have to understand, before i rode for them, i purchased them, and never had anything but bomb proof skis.

but you have to look at it from the company's standpoint, when a majority of their feedback is that the skis hold up to almost everything, they have to assume that you've really abused the shit out of them to make them end up like that.

once again, sorry you got some bad eggs.

I have 09's and they are actually stiffer than my old race skis, I can barely butter them, an im a heavy fucker. ive heard the new ones are softer

yea my friend has the 09's and he said they are also stiffer then his fischer gs race skis. Well im looking into the rocker and im probably going to wait for the vice...i dont really like buttering because i never really had a soft ski to try. my extremes are still to stiff for me

This years is not that stiff, no way its comparable to a race ski.
Its softer than my antidogmas.
