Phone Upgrade

My upgrade comes up in about five days and I have no idea what phone to get. I'm on verizon, and im debating whether to get any kind of droid, or even iphone. If i end up getting the iphone should i wait untill the summer to get the iphone 5?

i have a droid 2 and its pretty nice because of the full key board but the iphone is smaller and lighter another thing i recently found out is when you take your phone into verizon and the do some things to it or whatever they do well if you have an iphone verizon is not allowed to do ANYTHING to the iphone even if its just resetting the software so they have to send it to apple which could take awhile believe it or not my droid 2 is pretty damn tough i have dropped it many times and one of those times was just this last summer i dropped it in the lake i dove in got it and opened it in the sun for awhile and it still works like a pro i would go with a droid but i could see the appeal of an iphone

OP, honestly, go into the store, play around with phones for a while, and figure out what works best for you. no one can tell you what to get because only you know what you want/need it to do.

Well of course a phone that hasn't come out yet is better than my phone, my phone has been out for what, 9 months? luckily, i have an upgrade is less than a year, gonna upgrade hard.

wait for iphone 5 seriously. while imo the iphone is still the best phone out there purely for user interface and ease of use, it currently isnt up to par spec wise as some of the newer droids. wait for iphone 5. much faster processor possibly smaller and cheaper. i think its supposed to drop in june which isnt too much longer

Droid if you like neat-o features, iPhone if you like music. Both are sweet in their own way, you just might have to bust out the user's manual to figure out the Droid.

droids are pretty simple, not iphone simple, it takes a good week to learn everything, but once you do its so much better.

I find the music easy to use on the droid, the only reason people think the iphone is so sick for music is because they're used to the interface, as soon as you get used to the droid interface its sweet.

I know this is a forum, but come on. No capitalization anywhere, nor any form of punctuation. That was painful to read. On topic, droid all the way, but as mentioned, just go to the store and try them all out to decide what you like.

just gunna throw this out there, ive had both the droid and the iphone and honestly wasnt impressed with either, the droids fuggin sick when you first get it but after like a year mine got reall slow and wouldnt function worth shit, the iphone was alright except it dropped calls anytime i would try to "multitask". go with a blackberry bold, it never fails to impress me + BBM is the shit

Droid X. used to be an iphone guy, now I love my droid and wont go back. Does everything an iPhone will do an more. Don't be intimidated with the size either, I thought it was way to big too but now I just think that everything else is just too small.

ever wipe cache? dalvik? blackberry fucking sucks. unless you have ultra-secret emails that need to be encrypted, they're way behind the times on all of the "cool" stuff you can do with phones now a days.

i just got a droid x and like everyyhing about it except the battrry life. but that can be fixed with the extended battery. i think i shouldve waited for the droid htc thunderbolt though

alright, it really just depends on what you are going to use the phone for. If its for primarily emails, not internet just get the blackberry, if your going to be on the internet and want a full keyboard get the droid, or if u just want the iphone for its apps get the iphone its really not that difficult

hmmm - hard to trouble shoot via the interwebz, but there has to be a reasonable explanation as to why it was running so slow. must have been some sort of confliction somewhere in the software. i mean, after all, they're just tiny computers.

glad they hooked you up though. and if you like your BB, that's cool too. to each his own. they're solid devices. they just don't have a lot of the "cool" stuff.

i can get 2 days out of mine pretty easy. and i usually play music or pandora in my car with it for 30 mins to 1 hour a day. maybe another hour a day between internet and other stuff, then all my calls and text.

i can pretty much do whatever the hell i want with it and get a whole day, many hours of playing music, games and internet and still have over 15% at the end of the day.
the power moniter thing really helps, under android widgets, you can turn off gps, and other stuff when your not using it so it doesnt eat up your battery, and mess with screen brightness.

it also helps if you adjust the syncing options for facebook, email, weather, etc. the more frequently those things sync, the more power they're going to chew up. do you really need your facebook refreshing every 15 minutes? (example) just refresh when you look at it.

waiting for new technology always seems like such a cocktease. once it comes out there will be the "oh no i should have waited for the 6" feelings. i had the 4, got it for christmas, lost it, got the 3gs, and cant tell the difference. the retina screen was cool, but i cant tell the the 3gs doesnt have that, still crispy as a motherfucker. and facetime? fuck that shit, im glad that people cant see my face when they call me. it would have only served the purpose of gettin blunted with my boys who live in distant lands, but thats all negligible. i fucking love my 3gs, thats my 2 cents.

I'm due up for a new phone and I've had an iphone 3g the last 2 years and I'm not buying another iphone, and I'm definitely not staying with AT&T. I was gonna get either the Droid X or Fascinate but my buddy in the industry told me to wait 1-2 months and there will be some dope phones hitting the market. So if you can wait a little longer I would recommend that. Then again I'm not 100% sure this kid is correct but I trust his knowledge of the industry enough that I am personally waiting 1-2 months in order to get a better phone. Choice is yours.

I am also in the indusrty. A lot of carriers are going to be launching new Androids the end of the first and in the second quarter. Their will be some really nice phones coming out. ALso, look at the two new ones from AT&T that came out this past week. They are really nice devices. If you rook the inspire and add a new ROM in it, it will be amazing.

I sell cell phones, and I am telling you that in the next six months there are gonna be so many phones come out that make the phones now look like garbage...this is mostly due to everyone adding in the front facing camera. That said, I have a droid incredible and love it. I know a bunch of people with the droid x and they love it too.

But, if anyone does want to upgrade/get a new contract, pm me, I may be able to save you some $$$.
