Since I was too cheap to buy the Marker Barons/Dukes at the beginning of the season I instead bought the Griffons. Don't get me wrong I love them on my Kung Fujas they are super light, but I am getting into skiing some back country on the East Coast so I need a A/T binding. Luckily (or so I thought) I came across a pair of Silvretta 500's from a quite a few years back that I picked up cheap a few weeks ago. Since then I also came across a pair of S5's I picked up at a good price BUT here's the problem:
No one can mount these bindings, I have even printed out the template and have driven to ski shops that are an hour away from where I live at UConn. The shop initially says "yeah man we can mount those as long as you've got the template" and then three or four days later calls back to say "yeahhhhh you're gonna have to get somebody else to mount those for you, I don't wanna put a bunch of holes in your skis".
So I'm at a loss on what to do here- does anyone here work at a shop in the CT, MA, VT area that is 100% confident that these bindings could be mounted at that shop? I don't have the time or resources to drive all around the Northeast dropping these things off and being told they will be mounted only to be called days later saying that they can't do it anymore.
Please help! Here's a link to the binding-
