I own a S&W SD 9 and I love it. I'm looking for a decent holster and after starting to do some research I'm completely overwhelmed with how many different types and companies are out there.
Going to the range and having to put it down on a bench or back in the case is kind of annoying when I need to reload a magazine or take a break from shooting. Having a holster would be way more convenient. I haven't and not sure I want to carry concealed but if the mood ever strikes me, it would be a plus to have a decent holster for that too. I did my research for carrying concealed and I got my CCP here in NH just to be safe.
So I come to you all needing help. I love the feel and security of my friends KYDEX SERPA holster for his XD9 so I think I'd like something like that, but I won't rule out anything yet.
Anyone have good ideas or recommendations for what I want/need for my SD9? THANKS!

i dont allows carry a concealed weapon, but when i do i use a crossbreed supertuck. its an ugly holster, but after trying three or four different methods, it's by far the most comfortable. ran me 80 bucks and took 3 weeks to get here but i love it. for a range holster i just have a cheap holster i bought at a local gun store, it isn't formed so i can use it for a variety of different guns. i have been looking at blackhawk retention holster though. hope that helped

Wow Im really impressed by those. Im thinking of getting the Snap Slide and giving it a shot just because of the great return policy they have.

I really like the Blackhawk SERPA holsters as they allow you to change up the carrying placement with the same holster. As mentioned above, the Crossbreeds are amazing for concealed carry. I will definitely be picking one up for myself in the near future. If you are just looking for something to use at the range, a cheap nylon holster should do the trick. And should also be readily available at a local shop.
