is it the sd card? the battery? or is the gopro defective...because i planned on taking it to vail but its just not working.....

Assuming you have the hd gopro, your memory card is probably too slow. Go for at least a class 6 speed memory card.

This happened to mine no matter what memory card i used, I sent it in for warranty and they sent a new one.
