skied on both. found that ep's are much softer and easier to turn in the trees. bents are a bit stiffer and heavier.

if your skiing deep through trees go ep's
if you are charging big lines and cliffs go bents

This... But honestly, Unless I am skiing Seth Morrison style. I am on EPs or Lizzies. Its all preference. Which is why a thread will not help.

Hellbents are a slightly stiffer, less playful, heavier, and they hook easier in creamy pow pow.

I guess I don't know if your talking about Hellbents or Bentchetlers, so...

Bent chetlers, are stiffer than hellbents, have camber, and have a different taper style which I find a bit too skittish, but they are awesome skis nonetheless.

Hope that helps. I really enjoyed the Bent Chetlers when I tried them, and Hellbents are pretty sweet too.  They are all great pow sticks. But I think Bent Chets would be the most hard snow capable, EPs would be my pick for pow.

i can only say that EPs are lighter and a lil bit softer/more playful than bents, but both skis are ridiculous noodles....

this years bents are ridiculously fat, i like! but i think this will slighly compromise the overall performance of the hellbents ....

i myself own EPPs, and i love em!

i even give ski lessons on my EPPs unless its icy :)

Disclaimer: I have only skied the 09/10 models.

EP Pros are better at everything. They are better at groomers, better at pow, more fun in the park and a lot lighter.

They are both equally useless unless you ski knee deep at slow speeds exclusively. Flip a coin and buy some gay skis.

What a useless post. The fact that you don't like them doesn't mean that they're useless to everyone. I found EPs to be fun even on groomers. Very jibby, soft and buttery skis.

No. If your 6,4 200 lbs. You should not be skiing on eps or bents.
Stats do have a great deal in deciding what ski.

Interestingly, he is 6'2 and 170lbs so he's not a small guy.

I personally didn't like the hellbent that much, but the EP is a better ski than I would have thought.

I ride Bent Chetlers now and while I really like them, I would probably switch back for EPs if it wouldn't lose me money. Sure the Bent Chetlers are more stable when I'm doing some serious skiing, but for me they lack the fun factor.

agreed 100%

both are pointless unless you are skiing super deep bow 100% of the time. Get something stiffer that you can actually use well on days with less snow

I unfortunately have Hellbents that are currently sitting at home unmounted .. saddest thing when I walk in my room when I see them sitting there against my wall.

Heading to Utah this summer and I am going to need to sell them sometime soon though .. if you are interested.

Dude, I am 170, and 5'10" and I ride EPs or Lizzies every day. In fact I was dropping 30+ foot cliffs and generally charging at Big Sky this weekend on the lizzies.

ITS PREFERENCE.

Of course I also have Chopsticks, and I like them too, and they are pretty stiff, and 185. But I am on my lizzies probably 95% of the time because I teach on them.

See the thing is your not that big. Your right on what i would call the line to be able to ride them comfortably.

I own lizzies too and im 155 lbs. They are prefect right now and i could not see anyone over 190 lbs. being able to ride them COMFORTABLY. They could still ride them but it would be less fun.

Let me rephrase that for you:

To me, and for my size, the lizzies are short, very soft, and I love them for almost everything. One of my coworkers also has lizzies, but since she is quite a bit shorter than me, and much much lighter, they are not soft, or short from her perspective.

To get a similar skiing experience, different people have to choose different skis, and different lengths. But what specific ski and size you choose, mostly depends on what you are looking for in a ski, rather than who you are.

I only mentioned it because someone posted something about how EPs and Hellbents are worthless because of how soft they are, and I completely disagree.

(just for the record, i too think this is gonna be a sweet ski, but i haven't really heard a lot about it yet....

6'5 190lbs and have the 189 2010 hellbents. love em.

obvi they are only good on pow days, but they are ORGASMIC on pow days. people who say they are too heavy are just pussies. the EPs look fun to but maybe a bit soft for me. the bents hold their own underfoot, only thje tip an tail are floppy. so in deep stuff you can still charge with them.

i'm looking for a baller ski to teach on, currently i use my EPPs for teaching, but i think i'm gonna go for something around 100/110mm next year, and a bit stiffer ..... (opus or SFB perhaps )

This. I own a pair of EPP's and they are just way too soft and I regret getting them. I tried out my friends' Caylors this weekend and loved them they did really well all around and they weren't a floppy donkey dick.

i imagine they would be much better to teach on than epps. i would definitely look into this ski if you want a much more solid version of the epp. but still a really fun ski

I havent skied the EP's but I have used this years Hellbents and Obsethed (maybe similar to the EP's?) and found the Hellbent was just to much work. I was able to ski them both on a day with about 2 feet of fresh, with groomers on the way back to the lift, both performed about the same in pow, in terms of float and skiing more open lines, but the Obsethed made everything way easier, from tight trees to smaller airs(didn't hit anything over 15 feet with them), and were still really fun on groomers, I was even hitting park jumps at the end of the day with them. Id love to try the EP Pro's to see how they compare, but if your considering a K2 ski, I'd reccomend you consider the Obsethed over the Hellbent

The 2011 EPs feel significantly stiffer to ski on than the past 3 models. They have camber underfoot/slightly less rocker. I would say they feel more solid than the old Hellbent
