Mounting fail help

so my shop mounted bindings on my s5's yesterday and i noticed today the toe piece was more to the left of the ski and more ski was showing on the right side. I took it back today and they filled the wholes and re drilled the toe piece. It looks like the heel pieces are off too, but not by much and the guy at the store told me that when you mount bindings there not always perfectly in the center. That sounded like bull to me. My main question is should i ask the store to buy me completely new skis because my last pair snapped in half because it was drilled 2 times.

yes... that is the shops problem. As long as it snapped right through those holes. It sounds like they probably drilled REALLY REALLY close to the first set for that toe piece...

This is why I mount my own skis.

Mounting your own skis can be pretty awefull too, but if you take your time and think it through first, it usually goes preety smoothly. Or maybe it's just me.

ask them for new skis. they fucked up and like the guy said above me, if they moved the toe piece over they coulden't have moved it over much. probably like .5cm or less which is really close to the old hole.

if done right, the jig used to mount them will automatically center them. the fact that they were not centered could indicate a sloppy mount, not something you want. I would try my best to make them get me new skis.

Yeap, they ruined your skis. If you're under 18, I'd suggest going in with someone older who knoes their shit and raise hell if they don't agree with you.

First... be polite, and patient. But do not let them run you over. Tell them that since they messed up the mount, then remounted so close to the previous mount, it is their responsibility to fix the problem, because they messed up. And because you paid for the mounting service.

yes the jig should automaticly centre the binding. your previous skies would not have snaped because they were drilled twice though

Not true actually. If only the toe piece was remounted, and that is what it sounds like happened. Then there are two rows of 4 holes in a line across the ski. That is a lot of core to be missing across a ski.

It still blows me away that shit like this happens.  Generally the jig takes the idiot out of the equation.  It's almost like you have be trying to screw it up.  Maybe the guy just got lazy and decided to do it without a jig.

Too bad using a Jig is waaaay easier. The lazy man always uses a jig.
