safe mode?

hwo do i go about running my computer in safe mode? yes, i am that computer stupid

I'm not to sure but i did score in the jenious area- loafrider, on IQ tests

Man.. haven't used a pc in a while... if i remember correctly, restart your pc, hold F8 and a menu should come up.

It's one of the f keys. Try 5-10, should be one of those...sometimes it's f4. Just go try them all.

Why are you trying to do this anyways?

If none of the above work, let windows load partialy (Untill it gets to that loading screen if you have xp) and then cut the power. boot it up agian and you'll have a screen come up that asks if you want to try it in safe mode. Its pretty bad for your system tho...

yewa, last tie my computer got in safe mode(must hav been laying on a button or doing sumthing stupid) the screen was all blurry and we couldnt do nething so we had to reboot the whgole system which sucks cause u have to put everything back on again after

Yeah...that wouldn't be from going to safe mode...it's called 'SAFE' for a reason. You probably got to 'erase my fucking hard drive' mode.

it's f3 f5 or f7. i had to do it a month or so ago. after you turn on your computer, when the screen pops up showing the boot status (not the xp startup screen, usually the second screen on your boot up process), hold the button down then. then it should kick you into a screen with all the options safe, normal, etc etc etc.

safe mode boots the computer with the absolute least amount of processes and services possible for it to run, so if you have a virus or program causing a problem being called from the registry when windows boots, it will not start in safe mode, and you should be able to delete it and/or fix it.

most computers are f8, but it may vary. once you boot with it, just restart and you should boot normally

On mine, its F8. Tap it a bunch of times while the computer is starting and you should get to the menu that lets you choose safe mode.
