the only cap ski is the el rey and the junior skis...
its still sandwich construction like in the past - it's just cap in the tip and tail where you don't need complete sidewalls
in fact it's made the skis significantly better, and more nimble

have you ridden them?, cuz i did at sia on snow, and they sucked. i tried the halo and the thall and neither of them felt like they belonged in the park.
i just dont understand why they would change something that worked. in twenty years kids will be riding the original tanner halls with rounded edges, just like were riding the oldest design in ski boots thinking its new....

I like my 50/50 ar7s. They are super responsive and buttery. I dont know what you are talking about.

yes i've ridden them...
i was also at winter park myself
specifically i thought the new THALL was an amazing ski having not rode the redesigned version previously. It killed it on moguls, groomers, jumps, etc. everything
and dont even get me started on how much better the ar50 pipe cleaner skis are vs. the old ones
swing weight is non-existent on those things
and i assume they changed them to mitigate top sheet chipping and to make them lighter
