yeah shadows are a huge part in photography i find it hard to believe that these are the best of all the talented photo people on this site.

Why don't you offer something other than you disappointment next time?

I like putting these contests on for you guys. I think its fun. But I feel like nowadays, all I hear is how shitty the submissions are. If you guys have such a high opinion, how about stepping up and offering something other than a negative voice? You take the fun out of it and quite frankly, I've enjoyed it less and less because I feel this happening slowly over time. Would you like to see the contest just go away, since it clearly doesn't live up to your expectations? Cause I don't mind gaining those minutes back. These are ametuer photographers, doing it for fun. And if you don't offer anything other than "yikes" or constructive ways they can improve, why pay attention to the contest? You're not helping it, or me.

If you have something to say, make sure you back it up.

agreed the trash talking of submissions irks me as well. Constructive criticism is ok even pointing out things you think could be better, but to just state that all the submissions suck is way out of line.

it destroys the fun of the contest. This is a mod-run amateur contest on a forum. These aren't going to be the absolute best of the best photos ever taken. Advice on how the photographers can get better is good. Saying they are bad is not.

I say keep it up Ashley, I enjoy the photos and contests, and I think a lot more members do too, whether or not they participate.

Anyway, I vote 1.

thank you. Despite, i know you know a lot about photography and such, but like Ashley said, how about some photos to back it up or at least some constructive criticism... keep the negativity to a minimum dawg
