A few questions for ski builders

so the cult is pretty much dead, and I am doing my senior project on building skis. It would be really helpful if anyone who has experience building skis could take the time to answer a few questions, so that I can use some of the stuff either to help me with physically making them, or in my paper.
Name
Email Address
Affiliation (did you start a company etc.)
Background
Hardest Part of making skis?
Describe your first time, how did it go?
What is the biggest variable?
What is the most important thing and/or lesson you have learned from it?
Anything else you feel that you need to share?
thanks!

Me and my brother made a press last year and made 2 sets of skis.
Everything came out nice except the tips were not as curved as we wanted them.
So for the second pair we just fixed the press and curved the fuck out of the tips and tails and they came out perfect.
The edges are kind of a bitch to put on, but we just super glued them to the base until we pressed the skis.
Good luck with your project. Its really enjoyable to ski on something you made yourself.

thanks guys, i have an account on skibuilders, but I had trouble creating threads when I first made it, and ik it isn't quite as busy as this forum. Thanks for the advice on tgr also, but I know there are a fair amount of people on here who have made skis before (iggyskier obviously), so I'm still hoping that they will show up and post. I am planning on having one pressed next week
