Need some advice with my edges

so i was just skiing my PVC boxes earlier with my urban/ backyard designated skis, and about 3 inches of edge ripped out. this doesn't surprise me, i'm not mad by it, i don't want a warranty or anything etc. etc., BUT...

on either side of the ripped out portion of the edge, the edge that is still in is really sharp. it catches on the PVC and there's tons of little gouges in the pipe, maybe 1/16 of an inch deep. not worried about my boxes, but it's like hitting a sticky spot and throws off my balance and makes tricks harder and unpredictable.

anybody else had this problem? any way to fix it?

Detune your edges, may aswell round them off if they are your backyard skis

Edges will hold be way more resistant to cracking if you detune them.

maybe i didn't explain it well enough. the part of my edge that is catching is the the sharp edge created when the piece broke off.

so if my edge is like this _______/----\________

file down the the ends of the edges so they dont catch

Definitely round them off if they are just backyard skis. if you are going to use them on the mountain at all, you might want to go see a repair guy

congrats on your first post. haha

and if you still have the edge that broke off you should try to gorilla glue it back in, thats what i did.

plus i would detune your better skis if you use them for rails so those dont crack either. just go from toe piece to heel piece so you have somewhat of an edge on your tip and tails

no idea where the edge is, and it took part of my base off with it as well, to about a 1/2 inch towards the center of the ski. you can see the wood core. i probably should be worried about this lol

other than just put somthing in there to fill the void...
