Take note, that the modern Zombie movie has only been around for a few silly decades and has undergone many evolutions, the most inspiring which have been to give the walking dead the abilities to sprint and mob up.
while zombies are the new the black, the way I see it there's two kinds:
1. The kind that are about as cunning as popcorn. slow, limping, overall stupid.
2. the ruthless ones that want to and will tear everything limb from limb then eat it and seem to have the physical prowess to do so. and are usually kinda smart.
watch any of George A. Romero's stuff (the creator of zombie films, dawn of the dead, day of the dead, night of the living dead, wrote world war z). or read any legit graphic novel, the walking dead for example.
they dont run in any of those. the only reason people get caught by them is because they get surrounded or run into a dead end, or run into more.
Saw this. So stoked. Cant wait till 2008 lol. But anyways, I dont think it would be any fun with slow ass zombies. Its like getting a slow mo cheat on gta or something and just killing everyone. it gets super boring after a while.
because game makers know that a flashy trailer sells more than good gameplay. It doesn't matter how bad a game is, if the graphics are good people will still think it's the greatest game ever
Yo, it's gonna be a FPS-style exploration game ála Far Cry. With plot and choice elements similar to Deus Ex. Ingredients are good, but will it mix correctly?
- first-person melee combat - 4-player coop - weapon customization - set on an open world tropical island - RPG elements for character development - hordes of gruesome zombies
Mission
Dead Island combines first-person action with a heavy focus on melee combat, character development and customization of a vast array of weapons. All of these gameplay features are presented in a dark story inspired by classic zombie movies with a gritty and engrossing campaign that can be played with up to 4 players in co-op mode.
wow. that game looks fantastic. i was almost shedding tears from that.
also i would like to comment that it doesn't matter if zombies are fast or slow. their habits are up to the creative interpretations of the author/creator to fit the circumstances of the storyline. as long as they want human flesh and are undead, i'm fine with fast or slow zombies. what is important is that the story is compelling, which this game and storyline clearly is.
I just saw a good one and I can't recall the name.
I mean i have seen a ton but I cannot for the life of me pull up names. I really like dramatic run downs and heartbreaking terror and murder of families.
and as for the speed of zombies, i find fast, ruthless zombies much more terrifying than slow zombies. in my opinion, the speed of the zombie should be determined by the amount of time that person has been dead on account of rigor mortis(stiff limbs after death). this would logically explain the waddle in the old school zombie's step and the stiff arms. my ideal zombie movie would have zombies of all speeds.
hooray equality
to be fair, george a romero's remakes changed the zombies a lot. they either began communicating or just running. he's the fucking man. i saw a great interview with him on that show with george stroumbolopoulos... anywho. this thing looks awesome. i heart zombies so much i'll watch even the crappy movies.
