I can get a 540 on a lip and stuff. But when i try it on a 4 foot high 8 foot long jump i just cant seem to get it i ether get a 360 or a 450. i try to keep looking but i cant really seem to do so. Any tips or advice.
yeah just get 360s on bigger and bigger stuff until it's big enough that you're having to open up a lot to stop your rotation, then just do it again except keep on looking. the rest is obvious, stomp it and look over the opposite shoulder for maximum style.
throw your body/arm/head straight to the side. Suck your legs up, keep tucked till 450. Extend and brace for impact. Land/Afterbang and ride out of it like a BOSS.
This is a good way to think about it. The way i visualize it is think of the jump as a few feet smaller than it is, and throw a 3 over it. You will get to 3 a little before you land, and from there you can just watch the lander as you do the last 1.
but a lot of it is mental to. once you get comfortable with them they are the most fun trick imo
when I 5 I like to approach the lip with a little bit wider of a stance then i would if i was doing a straight air, 1, or 3. It my but just me but I feel like this gets you a stronger pop. This is how i was taught to do 5's and it i landed it first try. good luck, they arnt as hard as they look and they are a super fun trick so get em
yeah true i forgot to mention that. I didnt start doing 5's until i knew i could huge floaty 180's in my sleep. really helps to be comfertable landing switch obviously
you can throw your arms, this helps mentally but really its about your head keeping looking over your shoulder. Just keep looking don't even spot it at first, just commit and keep looking around.
if you have 450's then its a mental thing. its so easy to throw that to switch, such a tiny spin. just let it rip and after you land it once you will see how it feels then you got em all day
5s are fun. i just try to stay nice and balanced and get a good pop off the lip. now i feel like theyre easier than 3s and much easier on bigger sized jumps.
