Hey guys im just looking for a good comparison of the skis. as far as weight, flex, durability, and swing weight.... im also considering the Alpha 2 and the Alpha 1..... anything will help... but mainly comparing the S4 to other skis would be good...
I ment to say, flex in order from soft to stiff would be halos - s4's - alpha 1's. All three a very light, with low swing weights. The armada's will feel a bit softer and more jibby on snow because of the rocker.
Their the best skis ever, so much fun, ridiculously stable, really poppy, light weight, ridiculously durable (i've skied mine for just under 15 days and they show no sign of use other than cosmetic damage), top sheets barely chip.
I completely disagree, i love mine on rails cus their so light and durable, they're also amazing on jumps. They also rip trees, groomers, and do pretty well in a couple in's of pow.
I think watching Dale T. absolutely kill it riding the s4's in the spring edit is good enough advertisement to say they are in fact a good all around park ski
shit i really like the S4's i wish they had the rocker though... this is tough... i also dont want a ski thats too stiff.... can u still butter on the s4's
I'm 5'8 130 and i can't really butter my s4's, I can kinda do tail presses on them, but no nose butters. You're lot bigger than be so you should be able too. Halos will be a lot more buttery-jibby.
i dont mean to jack your thread here but would u say that the S4s or the Alpha 1s are better for all mountain and big kickers, generally? cuz i'm trying to decide between these 2
I have skied both s4's and i own halos, halos are nice but they kind of get annoying in the park, skiing switch is kinda a pain but the flex is suuper nice and buttery. s4's are stiff and and remind me of the amplids. not sure if that helped but thats my experience with both the s4's and the halos
Because they know that if they just put the word 'rocker' in the description of the ski somewhere, it'll probably sell more. Even if actually putting rocker on an S4 would completely ruin a tried and true, ripping all mountain park ski.
