IPod to PC Music transfer

I am not posting in Media and Arts because no one goes there

Does anyone know and use a good FREE program to transfer music from your iPod to a PC? Searchbar isn't really going to help because software changes so often, its all outdated. Im getting the new iPhone (super duper stoked, dealt with a really shitty phone for the last 2 years) and i want to throw all the music i have on my iPod onto the iPhone. My computer with all my music crashed like 6 months ago and lost all the 15,000 songs i had on there. I used to use POD to PC eay back when, but then they decided to put a price on it. Depends what kind of iPod, i did it with my itouch and my nano with a program on my computer at home. it only let me do it for up to 500 songs for free though. If nobody gets you the program name by the time i get home i will send it to you.

seriously though, you don't even need a program to do this. basically all you need to do is show hidden folders on your pc, enable your ipod as a disk drive, and copy the files back on to your pc. I've done this several times on different computers with no problems.

mymusicrescue, works well, only you have to actively be there to keep hitting OK i think when it asks if you want to pay for it, but it works for free

Copy Trans works great for me.  The trail only transfers 100 songs but I bought a serial for it and opend a ton more options for syncing directly to itunes.
