Replying to Official Lens Help Thread

This thread is for people to ask questions about lens, give feedback, ask for suggestions, whatever, in hopes to clean up this section and end thread-jacking.

So please participate and I ask the pros to reply in here to get this in their threads.

I'll start it off with asking if a 50mm f/1.8 or a 28-80mm f/3.5 would be better for a good DSLR filming lens. If either of these are bad since I'm still retarded at this stuff, let me know what's good.
