I'm heading up to Mt LaCrosse this weekend cuz my friend made it to state or something along those lines, and i was wondering what their park was like. Is it even worth going up and paying for a lift ticket?
A buddy of mine that snowboards goes to UW LaCrosse. Although he's not a full on park rat he said that their park had a bunch fun stuff and a decent variety. Didn't sound like it was anything epic, but fun and worth checking out I guess. Probably not all that helpful, but take it for what its worth.
it sucks, trust me i was there last year, and it sucks, but you have to make the best of it. I ride park all the time, and that is all i am going to ride there, just to have fun and shit with a few buddy's that also ride park.
during state weekend its fucking packed. i wouldnt go, because the lodge will be packed, and the lift lines are terrible. The only plus about state is that there a lot of attractive racer chicks around who are good at skiing. but if you do end up going cheer for the Mt. Ashwabay ski team, along with your friends.
I ski there on monday nights because it's college night so a lift pass is like $12. Mt La Crosse has a park that is only there because the owner's son wanted it to be there. It's a hill for racers with a park made by racers. The jump has the flattest landing even though it's big enough for some stylish 5's. The rails are set up horrendously, as in they aren't level at all and the lip and landing are built up so high that if you come off early you just run into the landing off the rail and get destroyed. They do have a dfd, flat rail, flat box, and fdf but all are set up terribly.
Long story short: Mt La Crosse has nice features but is great at making the easiest features sketchy as hell. I hope that helps.
this is what the park has, one 20 foot tabletop, a 30 foot kicker booter type thing, a bucket bonk, 2 cannons, one up, one flat, and a double kink, a flat bar, a flat box, and a kink thats it so basically its terrible.
the last time i went down damnation some dude cut me off, i swerved out of the way and ran into some HUGE ice boulders, double ejected with a front flip and a half through some trees into the woods. luckily all i walked away with was a broken thumb.
