Can you hike from deer valley to canyons?

just wondering because im going to deer valley for the first time and someone told me this story of a snowboarder who hiked from canyons to deer valley in protest.

I don't know. I know you can hike from Alpine Meadows to Sqauw. its sooo much damn fun.

youd have to hike through or around PCMR, which is in the middle of the deer valley and the canyons.

you can ski back and forth between PCMR and Canyons but if a snowboarder was trying to protest Deer Valley's skier only policy then he'd definitely do it from PCMR

*borders. But there is a very little chance you could get away with skiing I'm each of the three resorts in one day without getting in trouble. Deer valley will probably go as far as calling the police and charging you with theft of services because they are dicks there.

PC and deer valley border each other, but canyons is waaaaaay far from deer valley (hiking wise). You can't even get to canyons from PCMR unless you hike Pinecone to the end, and even then i think there's still a big valley separating them.

If you're gonna poach, go from the top of McKonkeys, godown the shoulder, a lottle ways down from the DV lift, then hike up and under the rope. ive only done it once and got some weird looks from patrol (i would think since they usually don't get the big clothes crowd a lot), but they never asked for a pass, so we grabbed some lunch (so gooood) and hopped back on the lift, went back to PC.

oh yuh just go through the BC gate in the upper parking lot. You'll instantly be transported to the top of the in run at the now nonexistent Chad's, where you will mob in like youre about to hit the secretly remaining invisible booter. Right before hitting the invisible transition, you will be teleported to the top of Deer Valley. Drop the rope between Empire and McKonkeys and you're money.

Shut up dude, the OP's question is a good one if he has never been to the park city area before, he may have thought it was like the Alta/Snowbird situation. No need to be like the typical NSer and be a sarcastic dick.

And if you want to go to different resorts, inwould recommend the interconnect tour. You go to six or seven different mountains through the backcountry, starting at PC and ending at snowbird, then you take a shuttle back to PC. I heard its really sick, I think I'm gonna try it when i go there in march.

Yes, but park city is in between Deer Valley and The Canyons, so that would be a dumb hike, and several miles long.

Plus, anyone who has an issue with resorts that only allow skiing and not snowboarding is fighting a pointless battle. I hope nobody actually wasted their time with something like that.

I work at Deer Valley, and I can tell you they would screw to the legal limits. I seriously wouldn't recommend trying to poach or cross the border from PC or anything like that. It'll turn out bad.

ive toured from alta to park city, park city was upset i came into their boundries, since i didnt it right next to the patrol hut on jupiter lift i guess. but i dont see why you couldnt hike that ridgeline if you felt the need.

No you cannot simply go up a lift at The Canyons and hike to Deer within reason. You can do it from Park City Mountain Resort like others have said.

STORY TIME!

6 years ago i went to the canyons with my fam. Me and my brother decided to take a bus from the base of tha canyons into park city. We drank and partied untill the bars closed. We then waited at the bus stop for about 30 mins....The buses had stopped running. We then walked back to the base of the canyons. It was freezing and it sucked.

I dont know why you would want to hike from the canyons to deer valley.

technically speaking you can hike from Snowbird to PCMR and then take a far tour to the canyons.... they even host a tour that stops at 6 resorts while you are doing it...

Wow. I clicked on this with the intention to make some smart ass comment like "you could hike to cleveland if you REALLY wanted to." but it turns out that on the west coast, hiking has actual meaning when it comes to skiing. not just hiking 50ft after you hit a rail. lol
