I am glad they won, but find it really funny that a band my mom saw in concert and has followed for a couple years just won album of the year. And to all the people claiming they suck live, my mom says it was one of the best concerts she has been to and i guess in the middle of the set all the musicians switched instruments multiple times. Lets see the any other top 40 people do that...
Doesnt eminem have a huge credit list after every song on his new album. Including writting credits. We all know lady faga is overly produced and probably has nothing to do with her music anymore. Compare her now to before she had a career. Katey perry sings songs about lolypops so shes out. Arcade fire actualy put out good work and are getting credit for it. Dont get your pantys up in a bunch, im sure your fav artists will get the credit they deserve at the teen choice awards. By the way im not hating on eminem. I love his album but he didnt deserve to win as much as arcade fire
i'll be listening to all the good music that's coming out nowadays in 40 years, and i'm not listening to all the shitty music that came out 40 years ago now. come on man, get learned.
I said the state of popular music, aka the Top 40 and so on. What I was saying was that pop music back then had a much more lasting effect, opposed to the trash put out nowadays which is meant to be popular for no more than a year.
i can't really refute you because its true top 40 hits are pretty much all trash nowadays, but that's how it works nowadays, there's still tons of good tunes coming out, and there's the internet to find it, so i'm content.
also, the 60s weren't so spectacular for pop music as you might think. in 1969, the number 1 song was "sugar sugar." by the archies. as in archie comics archie.
had this argument the other day at the ski area with people...who ever brings in the money will succeed, then when they start to fall they will be easily replaced, shit the backstreet boys have more of a stamp in music history than Bieber, Gaga or Katy Perry will ever have.
That said, "Month of May" is my least favorite song that they've ever written--I'm not quite sure why they played that one... I really hope that people aren't basing their opinion of Arcade Fire off of that one song because all of their other material is phenomenal.
Also, people need to stop being so ignant.
I don't really care about the grammys, this thread is just loltastic and I want to see where it goes.
I do not listen to arcade fire but I dunno what all you faggots are saying when you say eminem should have won. lets get real recovery was fucking trash. There is not one good song on there.
