Granted, I haven't been listening to radiohead much lately, and I was focused on math homework and not really listening. "nothing less than I expected" is a little premature, but I did enjoy it. They have created very tough albums to follow for themselves...

upon first run through i dont think it is as good as rainbows. with that said it is still very good but the whole thing is very slow and mostly melodies not bad but it seems with each new album radiohead steps more and more away from rock status

word on the street is that its actually a double album, so today's release is only part 1. (why would the newspaper edition have 2 vinyls for only 8 songs?, today's download was labeled TKOL1, it was released a day early for seemingly no apparent reason, and the last song is called "separator" and ends with the line: "and if you thought this is the end, your wrong.")

It all sounds too good to be true so I am not getting my hopes up at all, but if its true, this wiould have to be the most epic release of all time haha.  it would be too clever

I agree. First time through I wasn't too impressed.

Listening to it again last night properly. Oh man. Long bus ride + full moon + moonlit mountains + this on repeat for hours = perfect.
My friend describes it as if Kid A had a fucked up younger brother that lived in a forest. Pretty accurate imo.

There's the rumor In Rainbows is meant to be listened to with Ok Computer... maybe that was Ok Computer 2.0, this is Kid A 2.0 and Amnesiac 2.0 will follow? Idk... I thought it was very good and I'm just happy this incredible band is still coming out with new music.

yea I don't listen to much outside of hip hop...

Its not terrible, kinda boring, some good sounds, yea it sounded a little like the James Blake album.  Its hard for me to enjoy this type of music just cause it seems so boring and uneventful as opposed to hip hop which is the exact opposite...

anyone else have thoughts on the album..

First couple times through it I was so so about it. But now I think its great, definitely much more chill than earlier radiohead. It's a good chillin doing hw or out for a cruise type album

Radiohead albums I find take a lot of listens for the awesomeness to come through. You start noticing more of what's going on and the songs start to have more form and precision than when you first hear them.
So give it a few more listens and you might find there's more going on than you think ;D.
