has anyone done it? i'm thinking about applying for it for the first part of my senior year (i'm a junior right now). what is the application process? how much does it cost?
I was going to do it this year. This late in the school season only a few places would be open to go, so if you're thinking about going, get on it. As for money...pretty sure it was in the thousands. And to apply it was maybe 100? I don't totally remember, buy contact your local rotary group. What I didn't like was that you can't pick where you go...but I've hosted a few exchanges and it's really fun. So if you don't care where you go, I say do it.
I think it depends on where you are. I'm in Canada and I know that here you get to pick from a list of countries the top three you want to go to, and then I think they try to get you your top choice, but if not, you'll usually end up with atleast your second.
That is just what the Rotary group here told me...I had a few I could "pick" , but that didnt mean I could go any of those places...and actually they didnt think I would get that choice. But that changes for each Rotary region, because the sizes are different...so check! cause it would be an awesome experience...
